SHIPOTEL-BERLIN GMBH, SHIPOTEL EASTERN & SHIPOTEL WESTERN, Berlin

The hotel sits at the edge of the historic East Side Gallery, with the iconic Oberbaum Bridge steps away. Warschauer Str. S-Bahn and U-Bahn station is a 10-minute walk, providing direct rail connections to central Berlin, Tegel and Schönefeld airports. Uber Arena and Uber Eats Music Hall are just a 4-minute walk, making this a prime choice for concert-goers. The surrounding area is packed with bars, clubs, and restaurants, and the EastSide Mall (with Lidl and Rewe) is within 500 metres. The riverfront promenade offers a pleasant setting for evening strolls.

Shipotel Eastern offers cozy cabins with private ensuite bathrooms, a double bed (1.80 m), large windows, and - subject to availability - direct river views. Shipotel Western provides more budget-oriented cabins with shared showers and toilets on the upper deck; rooms feature a double bed (1.40 m) or a single plus bunk, large windows, and the option of a roof terrace (closed in winter). All cabins include bed linen and towels. Some cabins on the lower decks or near the engine room can become hot in summer, as only small fans are provided and no air conditioning is available. Street-facing cabins may experience noise from traffic and nighttime activity, while cabins on the river side tend to be quieter. Several reports note that cabin sizes are compact and mattresses vary in condition; requesting a higher-deck river-side cabin improves comfort and views.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, but free coffee and tea are provided each morning, which guests can enjoy on the deck or in the lounge. The Floating Lounge bar is open on the Shipotel Eastern, offering drinks on an outdoor deck in summer and by a fireplace in winter. Free stand-up comedy shows take place on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings. For meals, a wide range of restaurants and cafés are within a 5-minute walk, including Pirates Berlin, Scheers Schnitzel, Curry One, and Seoulkitchen, as well as supermarkets in the adjacent EastSide Mall. Guests on the Shipotel Eastern with a minibar can store their own provisions.

The primary leisure spaces are the spacious deck on the Shipotel Eastern and the roof terrace on the Shipotel Western (open in warmer months), both offering panoramic views of the Oberbaum Bridge and the Berlin skyline. A picnic area and sun terrace are available for relaxing on board. Inside, the Floating Lounge hosts free stand-up comedy several nights a week, and board games are available at reception. The real leisure experience, however, is the setting itself: waking up to views of the Spree, watching riverboats pass by, and being steps from the East Side Gallery and the vibrant Friedrichshain nightlife.
