The hotel sits on Douglas Street, within a 2-minute walk of the Royal Theatre and Victoria Bug Zoo. The Inner Harbour, BC Royal Museum, and Bastion Square are all within 600 metres, easily explored on foot. Chinatown, Market Square, and numerous restaurants are a short walk away. The bus stops at Douglas and Courtney (three minutes on foot) connect to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. The area has a high concentration of bars and nightlife, which can mean street noise during weekend evenings.

All rooms include a private bathroom (most with walk-in showers), air conditioning, heating, tea/coffee maker, microwave, mini-fridge, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Guests booking Standard Queen or Queen Deluxe rooms should note these do not include a microwave or fridge. Windows open about 4 inches. Many rooms face Douglas Street or the rooftop patio, which can lead to significant noise from the on-site bar and street; rooms at the back of the building are quieter. Some upper-level rooms have city views. Rooms are smaller on average but recently renovated with clean, contemporary furnishings. The King Suite is a larger option with separate living area.

The hotel does not provide breakfast. The rooftop Sticky Wicket Pub & Restaurant serves American, British, and International cuisine for lunch and dinner. Big Bad John's, The Clubhouse, and the Distrikt nightclub offer bar and entertainment options, with happy hour and live sports broadcasts. A liquor store is attached to the hotel. Guests wanting coffee or a quick morning meal can find cafes like Cora (0.5 km) and Crust Bakery (2 blocks away).

On-site leisure is focused on the games room, which has billiards and darts with bar seating. A rooftop sand volleyball court is available. The on-site Distrikt nightclub offers evening entertainment. There is no pool, spa, or fitness centre on the property.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Luggage storage is available at reception before check-in or after check-out. Complimentary bike storage can be arranged (bikes may also be stored in guest rooms). Parking is at an off-site outdoor lot a 1-2 minute walk away, costing CAD 15 per night; it cannot be reserved and fills up during summer. The hotel has a lift, 24-hour front desk, safety deposit boxes, and offers fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities (for a charge). There is no on-site airport shuttle.
