The Sylvia Hotel sits directly on Vancouver's English Bay with immediate beach access and unobstructed ocean views. Stanley Park is a 2-minute walk north, and the seawall path outside the hotel is ideal for walking, running, cycling, and rollerblading. Robson Street shopping district is 2 km inland, and the Vancouver Art Gallery is 2 km away. Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station is a short public transit ride or a 20-minute walk, providing a direct link to the airport (taxi cost approximately CAD 45). Bus #23 from Pacific Central Station stops nearby. Denman Street, one block away, offers numerous restaurants, cafés, and grocery shopping (Safeway). The location is highly walkable for downtown and Granville Island via the water taxi.

Standard guest rooms offer a flat-screen TV, seating area, and tea and coffee facilities. Suites add a fully equipped kitchen with a full-sized stove, refrigerator, cookware, and a dining area, along with a sofa bed. The spacious family room on the carpeted floor accommodates up to 3 beds. King and double-queen configurations are available. Some rooms have partial or full ocean views from upper floors; bay-facing rooms (Bayside Queen, Bayside Suite, English Bay Suite) are only bookable directly through the hotel. All rooms include a private bathroom with bathtub and shower. No air conditioning-rooms rely on ceiling fans and open windows for cooling. Rooms facing the street or near elevators may have more noise. Suites on higher floors (particularly 7th and 8th) are larger and quieter. No microwaves in standard rooms (front desk can warm food). Refrigerators are available on request in standard rooms free of charge.

The on-site restaurant overlooks English Bay and offers a full menu of American cuisine, including gluten-free options. Breakfast is served daily (Monday-Saturday 07:00-11:30, Sunday 11:00-02:00), and dinner service runs 16:30-21:30 each evening. The bistro patio and outdoor picnic tables are available seasonally. The bar/lounge hosts live music, and happy hour drinks and small plates are available. Room service from the restaurant menu is also available. Coffee in the rooms uses a pod system. Several well-rated restaurants and cafés (e.g., Delany's Coffee House, Hook Seabar, Espana) are within a 5-minute walk on Denman Street.

The primary leisure amenity is the immediate outdoor environment: the sandy beach, the 6 km seawall path perfect for walking, running, cycling, and rollerblading, and Stanley Park's hiking trails and natural attractions just a 2-minute walk away. Bicycle rental is available nearby for a fee. The hotel offers ski storage in winter for those using the nearby North Shore ski mountains (accessible by bus or car).
