The hostel sits in the central Embajadores district, putting major sights like the Royal Palace, the Golden Triangle of Art museums, and the El Rastro flea market (Sundays and holidays) within easy walking distance. Atocha Renfe station is a 15-minute walk away; the airport is reachable by metro or a 30€ fixed-price taxi. Two large supermarkets and numerous restaurants are within a 5-minute radius, including eateries on Calle de la Cava Baja. The immediate area is lively and can be noisy at night, particularly on weekends, but the metro connection provides quick access to quieter neighborhoods.

The private triple room has air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, kitchenette, and a safe. Dormitories are mixed (men and women) unless noted; some dorms have an attached bathroom. Beds are comfortable with good mattresses, but some dorm rooms can feel cramped and have poor natural ventilation - the windows in some rooms cannot be opened, which can lead to stuffiness and lingering odours. Upper bunks can be very warm due to limited airflow. Noise from the street, the common areas, and other guests is a frequent issue; rooms on the ground floor or facing the street are especially vulnerable. The hostel provides free earplugs at reception.

The self-catering kitchen is well stocked with utensils, two hotplates, and three fridges. A labelling system helps keep food organised (unlabelled items are thrown out). The hostel does not have a restaurant or bar, but the kitchen is available for preparing meals until 23:00. For a fuller meal, there are many affordable eateries and markets within a short walk. Themed dinners are occasionally organised (e.g. paella night for 5€, tapas night for 10€) and are good value for social eating.

There is no swimming pool, spa, or gym. Instead, the focus is on social and cultural programming. Free daily walking tours in English at 11:20 cover the classic and modern city highlights (about 2 hours each). Evening entertainment includes pub crawls, beer pong, board games, and live sports broadcasts on a large TV in the common room. From Thursday to Saturday, a free sangria social ('Noche de Sangria') is held. The well-equipped games room and the lounge area provide spaces for relaxation and meeting other travellers.

Luggage storage is free and available from check-out until 20:00 on the same day. Wi-Fi is free in all areas but can be slow in some rooms; the strongest signal is in the common areas. Keycard access is used for the building and rooms - cards may occasionally deactivate and need to be re-encoded at reception. There is no elevator, and some corridors are narrow and uneven, which can be challenging with heavy luggage. Board games and a safety deposit box (additional charge) are available.
