Surrounding streets are packed with restaurants, bars, and tapas spots including Museo del Jamon and Casa Labra, all within 300 metres. The Express Aeropuerto bus stops at Plaza de Cibeles, a 10-minute walk, making airport transfers straightforward without a shuttle. Parking is public and off-site at a daily rate.

Rooms are decorated in a modern style with light wood furniture. Private bathrooms are available in some rooms; others share facilities on the corridor. Dorms have box-style bunk beds with individual lights and plugs. Lockers are large enough for a cabin trolley and backpack, but bring your own padlock. Some double rooms are compact, and shared bathrooms have semi-transparent shower doors and lack door locks in some configurations - better suited to those comfortable with limited privacy. Soundproofed windows help reduce street noise, but internal noise from groups and late arrivals is common. Daily housekeeping cleans common areas, but bed linen is not changed during the stay. Wi-Fi may be weak or unavailable inside rooms.

Breakfast is a continental and buffet style with a good variety and is well-regarded for its value. During busy periods, the breakfast area can become crowded with school groups, and tables may be scarce. For those with early departures, a packed breakfast can be arranged on request. The bar on the second floor offers cocktails and bar snacks, and themed parties are held there. No restaurant is on-site for lunch or dinner, but the surrounding neighbourhood is full of restaurants and tapas bars within a 5-minute walk.

Leisure is focused on the second-floor common area, which includes a pool table, billiards, and comfortable sofas for relaxing or meeting other travellers. A shared kitchen is available, but it is compact and can be crowded. Free walking tours depart daily from reception, and paid activities such as pub crawls, bike tours, and culture classes can be arranged. No pool, spa, or gym is on-site.

The 24-hour front desk can provide tourist information, tour desk services, and safety deposit boxes at an additional charge. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after checkout. Laundry service is offered for a fee, but the machines are older and dryers may leave clothes damp. The shared kitchen has a microwave and oven but no stove; instructions are only in Spanish.
