The location is exceptionally central for sightseeing. The West End is only four tube stops away, and the Southbank, Tate Modern, and Millennium Bridge are within a 10-minute walk. The London Dungeon, Southwark Playhouse, and BFI IMAX are all reachable in under 20 minutes on foot. Numerous restaurants, including Cote Brasserie and Yo Sushi, are within a five-minute walk. Public transport connections are excellent: St Paul's and Blackfriars stations provide fast links across London, and Thameslink trains from Gatwick arrive at Blackfriars. For those arriving by car, no on-site parking is available, but multiple paid car parks are located nearby.

Most rooms feature bunk beds and share bathroom facilities (toilets and showers) located in the hallway; only two private en-suite bathrooms exist in the entire building. A sink is provided in each room. Family rooms and private rooms with up to 10 beds are available, and these are private - no other guests will share the room. The building has no lift, so rooms on upper floors require climbing stairs. Soundproofing is limited, and windows are single-glazed, meaning external noise from St Paul's bells, street traffic, and nearby bars can be intrusive, especially at night. The hostel provides free earplugs at reception. Dormitories can be shared with other independent travellers unless a private room is booked.

Breakfast is a continental style with bread, pastries, cereals, and hot drinks, available for an additional charge of £8. Children under 10 can have breakfast for £1. The dining room also serves evening meals, and pizza is available for a very reasonable price, baked on the premises. The bar offers beer, soft drinks, and wine, and a vending machine supplies crisps and chocolates. Special diet menus are available on request. There is no self-catering kitchen or microwave, so guests relying on packed meals should plan accordingly. The surrounding area provides numerous cafés and restaurants within a few minutes' walk.

Leisure facilities include a library, a shared TV lounge, and a games room stocked with board games. For a small additional charge, the hostel offers walking tours. The surrounding area provides abundant sightseeing opportunities: St Paul's Cathedral is immediately adjacent, the Southbank and Millennium Bridge are a short stroll away, and the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe, and Borough Market are all within easy walking distance.
