AGUAZUL, Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote)

Lanzarote Airport is 5km away - a 10-15-minute taxi ride. Bus 161 runs from the airport to Puerto del Carmen but has limited evening service; a taxi is more reliable for late arrivals. The apartment is well placed for exploring on foot: the lively Avenida de las Playas with its bars, restaurants, and shops is under 5 minutes away, and the sandy beach (Playa Grande) is about 5-10 minutes on foot. A Spar supermarket is right next door, making self-catering supplies very easy. Free on-street parking is usually available directly outside, a significant advantage in this area. The location is central enough for nightlife yet quiet enough for a restful sleep.

The one-bedroom apartments are laid out with a living room (with sofa bed), one separate bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. The kitchen includes an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge-freezer, and washing machine - everything needed for self-catering. All apartments have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels (including BBC and ITV), free WiFi, a safety deposit box, and ironing facilities. The terrace or balcony is a standout feature: most have either garden or sea views, and some come with sun loungers plus a table and chairs. Upper-floor apartments are accessed by stairs (16 steps to the first-floor apartments, more to the second floor); there is no lift and no ground-floor units. The property does not have air conditioning but provides a fan on request. Bedding and bath towels are provided but are not changed during the stay. The apartments are generally described as clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.

Pool 1 is indoor and open all year; Pool 2 is an outdoor pool, also open all year; and a third pool is an outdoor heated infinity pool with sun loungers, open all year. There is no spa or wellness centre on site. The pool area is well maintained and usually quiet, with plenty of sun loungers but no umbrellas. A solarium and a children's playground are also available. The surrounding area is popular for golf, windsurfing, diving, fishing, horse riding, tennis, and water parks (all off-site, some with additional charges). The beach is a 5-10-minute walk.

All apartments have free WiFi, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and a safety deposit box (included). A paid shuttle service is available - mainly useful for trips outside Puerto del Carmen rather than for the beach, which is walkable. Express check-in/-out is offered, and an invoice is provided. The complex has a shared lounge/TV area. Cleaning services are not included for stays: you are responsible for cleaning the apartment and for changing towels and linen yourself. The host communicates by WhatsApp or email - there is no physical reception. There is no luggage storage, so plan check-out accordingly. A fire extinguisher and smoke detectors are present.
