The area is quiet for central London, though rooms facing the street can pick up noise from the nearby park and nightlife.

The rooms are set across five floors with no lift, so those with mobility needs or heavy luggage should request a lower floor. Each room is equipped with a fan (no air conditioning), a hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. There is coffee, tea, bottled water, and biscuits replenished daily. The double rooms have a standard double bed; twin rooms have two single beds. Rooms are noted to be very small, so they are best suited for short stays or solo travellers. Soundproofing is limited, and noise from neighbouring rooms and the street can be audible. Some rooms have windows opening onto a square; others face a rear courtyard or a brick wall. Rooms in the basement (e.g., rooms 001-003) may be less desirable.

Since no meals are provided, guests should plan to eat out. Within a 5-minute walk are numerous pubs (McGlynn's, Skinners Arms), Italian (Casa Tua), Portuguese (Cappadocia), and fast food (Nando's). For breakfast, the cafés and chains around St Pancras station and on Marchmont Street are convenient. Guests who prefer self-catering will find Marks & Spencer Food and Sainsbury's nearby.
