APARTAMENTOS LOS PUEBLOS, Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote)

The apartments sit on a hill above Puerto del Carmen, offering tranquil surroundings and sweeping views over the Atlantic and the old town. The harbour and its restaurants and bars are a 10-15 minute walk downhill, while the main strip is a further 10-15 minutes. The steep return walk involves several hills, making taxis (around €3-4) a practical option for getting back. A Spar supermarket is a 5-minute walk away, and a Lidl is about 20 minutes on foot. Playa Chica beach is a 15-20 minute walk downhill, and the beach at Playa Grande is slightly further. Easy access to the LZ-2 highway makes the apartments a good base for exploring the rest of the island by car.

One- and two-bedroom apartments are generously sized by modern standards, each with a separate bedroom, a combined living and kitchen area, and a large private balcony with sea views. The balcony includes a table and chairs, and some have sun loungers. Kitchens are equipped with a two-ring hob, kettle, toaster, fridge, and basic utensils; there is no oven or microwave. The furnishings are dated but functional, and the apartments are kept clean. Beds are a common point of feedback; some find the mattresses very firm. Rooms may have a musty smell, particularly those that have been unoccupied. Road-facing rooms can be noisier, and internal plumbing noise is occasionally audible. The complex has no lift, and many apartments are reached by stairs.

The pool bar, run independently by a friendly couple, is the main on-site dining option. It opens daily from around 10:00 to 17:30 and serves a range of snacks including toasties, chips, and pizza, with a full English breakfast available until around 11:00. The food is consistently described as good value and the staff as exceptionally welcoming. The bar also serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Within a 5-minute walk, several restaurants line the road downhill, including the popular Mario's pizza restaurant. The harbour area offers a wider selection of dining options. The apartments are self-catering; basic cooking equipment is provided but no consumables such as washing-up liquid or tea towels.

The outdoor swimming pool is open all year and features a shallow end, making it suitable for children. The surrounding sun terrace is equipped with plenty of free sun loungers and umbrellas. Inflatables are available at the pool. The pool area is generally quiet and relaxed, though the pool bar plays background music. A lifeguard is on duty. Sun loungers are available on the larger balconies, offering a more private sunbathing option. The complex also offers a solarium and a public bath (free). Guests can enjoy the garden and sun terrace. Fishing and golf (within 3 km) are possible nearby.
