ARGYLE BACKPACKERS, Edinburgh

Argyle Backpackers sits on a quiet residential street opposite The Meadows, a large green park ideal for walks or relaxation. Edinburgh Castle is 2 km away, while the National Museum of Scotland and Edinburgh Waverley station are within walking distance. Bus route 9 runs to the city centre, and the 24-hour 100 bus from Princes Street connects to Edinburgh Airport (9 km away). The neighbourhood offers supermarkets, cafés, pubs, and a fish-and-chip shop within a few minutes' walk, making it convenient for self-catering or eating out. The area feels safe and quiet at night, though a bar opposite can produce some street noise.

No breakfast or dining service is provided. However, the hostel has two large, well-stocked shared kitchens with ample pots, pans, utensils, and dining space in an adjacent sunroom. Free tea and coffee are usually available, and there is a small freebies area for leftover food and toiletries. The garden has outdoor furniture and a barbecue for warm-weather use. For those preferring to eat out, there are multiple cafés, a pub, a fish-and-chip shop, and a Co-op supermarket within a 5-10 minute walk.

Wellness and Leisure offerings are centred on shared social spaces. The back garden is a quiet space with tables, chairs, and an outdoor fireplace, ideal for relaxing in good weather. The conservatory and lounge have a piano, guitars, board games, and a TV area for film nights. Bicycle rental is available for exploring the city and nearby Meadows park. While there are no spa or fitness facilities, the location near the park provides ample space for jogging, cycling, or leisurely walks.

Free WiFi is available in rooms and common areas. Reception provides tour desk services, private check-in/out, and express check-out. Luggage storage is free until 17:00 in a secure cupboard. Laundry services (washing machine and dryer) are available for an additional charge. Bicycle rental and safety deposit box use are free. The property has 24-hour security with CCTV, key-card access, and lockers (guests need their own padlock). A small minimarket sells basic essentials. Check-in is from 13:00, check-out by 11:00. The property accepts cash (British pounds only) and major credit cards.
