A-TRAIN HOTEL, Amsterdam

The hotel sits on a busy street facing the station entrance, giving immediate access to rail services across the Netherlands and to Schiphol Airport. The main shopping streets, restaurants, pubs, and theatres are within a 15-minute walk. The Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark are easily reached by tram or metro from Central Station. The RAI convention centre is 15 minutes by metro. A supermarket is two doors away. The area is central and lively; rooms at the rear are noticeably quieter.

The hotel offers single, twin, double, family, and apartment rooms. All include a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a safe, tea and coffee facilities, and a hairdryer. Bed sizes tend toward compact, and some mattresses are softer. Room sizes vary, but many are small, particularly the budget options. The split-level apartment has a kitchenette, a children's play area, and a small child's bed. The Old Dutch Suite has a private patio where smoking is allowed. A few rooms have beams or internal steps. Some rooms have limited sound insulation from the corridor and street.

Breakfast is a buffet with white, dark, and raisin bread, in-house baked croissants, Dutch beschuit, butter, jams, chocolate paste, honey, ham, cheese, cornflakes, muesli, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, and fresh fruit. It costs €25 per person per day. The 24-hour self-service drinks machine in the lobby provides coffee, tea, and hot chocolate at no extra charge. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but many dining options are within a 5- to 10-minute walk.

Wi-Fi is free throughout. Reception is staffed around the clock. Luggage storage is free and can be used before check-in and after check-out. The lift serves all rooms except the apartment. Laundry, dry cleaning, and ironing are available for an additional charge. Coffee and snack vending machines are on site. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, and safety deposit boxes. Cots are available for €15 per night. The hotel does not accept pets.
