The hotel sits on the main pedestrian route from Central Station to the city centre, placing the Royal Palace, Dam Square, and the main shopping streets just a few minutes away. The Red Light District is within a 5-minute walk. The central train station gives direct 15-minute connections to Schiphol Airport, making the location ideal for train travellers. Cruise ships dock within 300 metres. Trams, buses, and canal boat tours all stop nearby. The area is lively day and night, with restaurants, bars, and cafés within a 2-minute walk. For travellers who prefer to walk, the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, and Vondelpark are all a pleasant 20-30 minute stroll away.

Rooms are small but functional, equipped with a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, and in some cases a safe. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower. A few rooms have no window or a very small window; these can feel cramped and poorly ventilated. Rooms with balconies are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be requested. The lift serves four of the five floors; the top floor is reached by stairs. Road-facing rooms on the lower floors can be noisy due to street life, especially on weekend nights. Rooms at the rear tend to be quieter. The building is older - some fixtures and furniture show wear - but bedding and towels are changed daily. Single rooms are compact; triples are noted for having three separate single beds, which can work well for groups. No air conditioning in most rooms; a fan is available on request.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with a hot component: scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked beans are typical daily offerings. Bread for toasting, sliced cheese and cold meats, jam, yogurt, cereal, and fruit are also available. The hot drinks machine provides coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The breakfast room can get busy, especially around 08:30-09:00, and the single toaster and coffee machine may cause short queues. The hotel has no restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner. A vending machine with drinks and snacks is available in the lobby. The surrounding streets (within a 2-minute walk) offer dozens of restaurants, pancake houses, burger bars, and takeaway outlets.

The hotel does not operate a wellness centre, pool, sauna, or gym. For leisure, guests can walk to the Royal Palace (2 min), Dam Square (2 min), the Red Light District (5 min), the Rijksmuseum (20 min), and the Vondelpark (25 min). Canal boat tour piers are within a 3-minute walk. The hotel's location on the Damrak also makes it easy to join walking tours or rent bicycles nearby (public bike parking is available nearby, but bikes are not allowed inside the hotel).

The 24-hour front desk can assist with taxis, local information, and basic requests (iron on request, fridge for medication). Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping replaces towels and makes the bed. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, including in rooms. A safety deposit box is available (free). The lift reaches four of the five floors; the fifth floor is stair-access only. Fax/photocopying is available. The hotel has no private parking and no shuttle service. The nearest public car park is Q-Park Bijenkorf, about a 5-minute walk away. Pets are not allowed.
