AVID HOTEL OCALA DOWNTOWN BY IHG, Ocala

The hotel sits at a busy intersection with challenging left-turn access into the parking lot; approaching from the correct direction or making a U-turn is easier. Artist Alley is 2 km away, Silver Springs 11 km, Rainbow Springs State Park 36 km, and Sholom Park 15 km. Gainesville Regional Airport is 72 km from the property. Nearby restaurants include Picasso's Palette (0.5 km), J&J Seafood (0.5 km), Latinos y Mas Restaurant (1 km), and Pronto Pizza (1 km). A Walgreens and Dollar Tree are across the street for basic needs. Downtown Ocala's restaurants and the courthouse are within walking distance. For long-distance access, the hotel's proximity to major roads makes driving practical, but road noise is a factor for rooms facing the street.

Accommodations offer air conditioning, heating, parquet floors, a desk, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Mini fridges are now in all rooms, and microwaves are available upon request. Rooms are equipped with blackout curtains and sound-reducing windows, but the overall sound insulation between rooms and floors is minimal; footsteps, conversations, and plumbing from above are easily heard. Rooms facing the main road experience heavy traffic noise, especially from early morning. For light sleepers, requesting a room away from the street and elevator, ideally on a higher floor, is strongly recommended. Room size is compact; storage is limited to wall hooks with no closet or dresser. The comfortable beds are noted as a strong point, though the duvet can be warm. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers (some with tubs) and Dove toiletries.

The breakfast buffet features American-style warm dishes like scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, plus cereals, yogurt, fruit, and juice. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available 24/7 in the lobby. The breakfast area has both indoor and outdoor seating. While the selection is considered adequate for a complimentary meal, it can run low near the end of service; arriving early is advisable. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar for other meals, but several dining options are within a short walk or drive.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Free private parking is on-site but requires a reservation; accessible parking spots are available. The 24-hour front desk offers luggage storage and an ATM on site. Daily housekeeping is provided, though room servicing may need to be requested. A business centre with fax/photocopying services is available. The hotel is wheelchair accessible with a lift. Pets are allowed with applicable charges. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, and safety deposit boxes.
