The Inn is set in a beautiful, quiet residential area that is highly walkable. Harrah's Cherokee Center is a 16-minute walk away, and the Basilica of Saint Lawrence is 1 km from the property. Downtown Asheville's shops, breweries, and dining are a 15-20 minute walk or a short drive. Biltmore Estate is a 10 km drive (about 10-15 minutes). Asheville Regional Airport is 20 km away. Several restaurants, including Plant, Jettie Rae's Oyster House, and Liberty House Coffee, are within 0.5 km. Free on-site parking gives guests the option to drive or walk.

All rooms feature air conditioning, private bathrooms with bathrobes and free toiletries, a flat-screen TV, and a dining area. Most have parquet floors and a wardrobe. Room types vary widely: some have king beds (Rose Room, Sarah Davidson Suite, Oak Terrace, Dogwood Cottage), most have queen beds, and the Sarah Davidson Suite accommodates up to 4 guests with 2 bedrooms. Some rooms include a spa bath or jetted tub, while others have clawfoot tubs with hand-held showers-those with knee or hip issues may find the clawfoot tub challenging to enter. A few rooms (e.g., Dogwood Cottage) place the shower in the bedroom rather than a separate bathroom. The Arbor Room is on the first floor of the main house with its own entrance and patio. The Sarah Davidson Suite on the third floor is the largest room and is quiet and spacious. Many rooms have access to private balconies or the garden. Bedding is consistently described as very comfortable.

Breakfast is served daily between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and is a continental offering: coffee, orange juice, bagels, muffins, toast, yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Hard-boiled eggs may be available. The Inn can accommodate vegan or other dietary restrictions when given proper notice. For those who prefer a hot or heartier breakfast, the surrounding neighborhood has several restaurants within a short walk, including Plant (0.5 km) and Jettie Rae's Oyster House (0.5 km). Coffee and tea are available 24/7 via a self-serve station, and freshly brewed morning coffee is ready around 8:00 a.m. Freshly baked cookies are offered in the afternoon.

The Inn's landscaped gardens feature shaded seating areas, a swing under a large tree, and patio furniture. The wide front porch is equipped with rocking chairs and a swing, making it a popular spot for reading or socializing. Many rooms have private balconies overlooking the garden. Boating is available in the surrounding area. There is no pool, gym, or spa on site.

Free WiFi is available in all areas. Free private parking is available on site with no reservation needed; street parking is also possible. The Inn is not handicap accessible and has no ramps or lifts-guests with significant mobility needs should consider booking a ground-floor room such as the Arbor Room or Oak Terrace. Self-check-in is available for arrivals after 15:00, and directions are provided the day of arrival. Luggage storage may be available upon request.
