The hotel sits on a peaceful street lined with Victorian townhouses, a short stroll from Gloucester Road Underground Station (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines). Piccadilly line trains reach Heathrow in around 30 minutes. South Kensington's museums - Natural History Museum, V&A and Science Museum - are within a 10-15 minute walk. Around the corner are numerous restaurants, pubs and cafés along Gloucester Road and Old Brompton Road, and Harrods is about 25 minutes on foot. Despite the central location, the immediate area remains calm at night.

Room types include single, double, twin and spacious double configurations. All rooms have a private bathroom with a bath or shower and hairdryer, a tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV with cable channels, wardrobe, work desk and free Wi-Fi. Air conditioning is only present in a small number of rooms; most rely on a standing fan and windows that open just 5-10 cm. Rooms tend to be compact, especially the single and standard double categories. Basement and lower-ground-floor rooms have limited natural light and restricted window opening. Sound insulation between rooms is minimal, so corridor noise and door-slamming are common. Rooms overlooking the rear mews are quieter. Bed quality and linen are consistently rated as comfortable.
