For airport access, take the 49 bus to Langara Station and then the Canada Line Skytrain - the bus stop is an 8-minute walk from the property. Taxis are not readily available on standby, but the front desk can call one (5-10 minutes to arrive). Many cafes, restaurants, and a grocery store are within a 10-15 minute walk on campus, and the UBC Hospital is a 10-15 minute walk away.

The property originally serves as student housing, so rooms are practical rather than luxurious. All rooms are carpeted and include a flat-screen TV, mini fridge, coffee machine with pods, and a wardrobe. Kettles can be requested at the front desk. Room types include twin rooms (two single beds), double rooms (one double bed), and various suites and apartments with kitchenettes (refrigerator, microwave) and separate living areas. Some apartments have 2-3 bedrooms and multiple bathrooms. A limited number of rooms have a balcony; availability should be confirmed when booking. The atmosphere is basic and dated but functional, and the building is equipped with a lift. The environment is generally quiet, though the lack of air conditioning and thin walls can affect comfort during warm weather or with noise from neighbours. Housekeeping is not daily; fresh towels and supplies are available from a storage room or on request at reception.

Breakfast is included with most rates and offers a selection of hot dishes (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes) plus self-serve cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and juice. The cafeteria, Carey Cafe, is also open for lunch (American cuisine with vegetarian and vegan options) and offers a children's menu. For dinner, the cafeteria is open for pick-up or delivery to the room for guests in self-isolation. Packed meals or takeaway are available on request. The breakfast area is basic and can get crowded, but the food is generally described as decent value for the included price. Outside the property, Loafe Cafe (1 km) and Koerner's Pub (1 km) are within a short walk on campus, along with several other restaurants and a grocery store.

There is no spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre on the property. However, the location on UBC campus provides direct access to outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling trails (including trails down to Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, both about 4 km away), a golf course within 3 km, and the scenic Nitobe Japanese Garden and Museum of Anthropology within a short walk. The picnic area and garden on-site are available for relaxing.

Wi-Fi is free in public areas and is reported to have a good connection; ethernet cables are available at the desk for faster speeds. A luggage storage room is available for early check-in or late check-out. A laundry room is on the 3rd floor (coins may be needed). The business centre and meeting/banquet facilities are available for an additional charge. Accessibility is provided: room 206 is wheelchair accessible, and the building has a lift. A 24-hour security system with CCTV and smoke alarms is in place. The front desk can assist with calling taxis, booking parking, and providing extra supplies (towels, pillows, kettle).
