Catalonia Roma sits in a quiet residential area yet is just a 5-10 minute walk from Barcelona Sants, the city's main train and metro hub, with direct rail links to the airport. The Aerobus also stops at nearby Plaza Espanya, making car-free airport transfers straightforward. Plaza Espanya, Fira Conference Centre, and Montjuic attractions are all within a 15-minute walk. While the Gothic quarter is a 40-minute walk or a short Metro ride, the surrounding neighbourhood has numerous bars, restaurants, a supermarket and a coffee shop on the doorstep. On-site parking is available but tight and not reservable, so a small car is recommended.

Standard rooms are modern and feature satellite TV, safe, minibar, and parquet floors. Some rooms are compact, especially triple and family rooms, where space for luggage can be limited. A Junior Suite offers a separate seating area with a sofa bed and upgraded bathroom amenities (bathrobes, slippers, magnifying mirror). Family rooms have a double bed plus two single beds or bunk beds - bunk beds are best suited for children. Note that no rooms have a balcony. Interiors-facing rooms may have limited natural light, while higher street-facing rooms are quieter. Kettles and a microwave are available on request from reception.

The buffet breakfast (served Monday-Friday 07:00-10:30, weekends 07:30-11:00) offers a wide selection including fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, cooked items like scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, cheeses and cold cuts. Breakfast is an additional charge of €17 per person. There is no standalone restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the bar serves snacks and drinks, and room service is available until late. For other meals, the surrounding area has many restaurants and cafes within a few minutes' walk.

The unheated rooftop pool (open seasonally 10:00-20:00) is a genuine bonus for a city hotel, offering a shallow end and a pool with a view over Montjuic. It is particularly popular after a day of sightseeing. A small fitness room is located in the basement. The pool area is fenced and the terrace provides a pleasant space to relax, though the pool is small and may get busy in high season.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout, a 24-hour front desk with a large stained-glass skylight, and free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out - ideal for late flights. Daily housekeeping is included; laundry, dry cleaning and ironing are available for an additional charge. Express check-in/check-out, a tour desk, and car rental are all offered on site. Business facilities (meeting/banquet rooms) are available at an extra cost. A safety deposit box is free of charge in the room. Parking costs €21 per day on site (no reservation possible) and the garage access is narrow.
