COMMANDER BEACH HOUSE HOTEL, Ocean City

The Commander Beach House is a one-minute walk from the ocean and the Boardwalk. The Ocean City Life-Saving Museum is within five minutes on foot, and Embers Island miniature golf is a ten-minute walk. Several restaurants are within 0.5 km, including Grotto Pizza and The Cluckin' Crab. Free parking is available in five lots, and the free shuttle service covers the surrounding area. For airport transfers, note there is no official shuttle service available.

Room types range from compact doubles to spacious three-bedroom suites. Standard double rooms include a small refrigerator and microwave, while the more comprehensive efficiencies add a cooktop, stove, and full-size refrigerator. The two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments feature fully equipped kitchens, separate living areas, and multiple TVs with Dish Network. Some rooms have a private bathroom in the room; others, such as the Twin Double with Separate Bathroom, have the bathroom across the hall-check availability carefully. All units are accessible by stairs only, with no elevator. Note that the building does not offer oceanfront views, and there are no connecting rooms.

The Commander Beach House building does not have its own restaurant or bar. Guests can eat at the on-site dining located at the Commander Hotel across the street, which includes a restaurant overlooking the boardwalk. Alternatively, numerous casual eateries are within a short walk-such as Grotto Pizza, The Cluckin' Crab, Asian Garden, and Franco's Pizza & Bar, all 0.5 km away. Many rooms come with a microwave and refrigerator, and apartments have full kitchens, allowing for easy meal preparation.

The outdoor pool (across the street at Commander Hotel, a two-minute walk) is seasonal, open through Columbus Day weekend. The indoor heated pool is open year-round and located in the main Commander building, about a four-minute walk. Both pools are free for Beach House guests, and sun umbrellas are provided on the outdoor pool deck. Other amenities include free beach chairs (two per day), a free bicycle rental service, and a seasonal shallow-end area in the outdoor pool. There is no spa, hot tub, or jacuzzi on site.

Wi-Fi is free and available in all areas. Parking is free for one car per room across multiple lots. A free shuttle service covers the local area. The property is completely non-smoking with a designated smoking area. Daily housekeeping is provided, and the 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage and other needs. There is an ATM on site and vending machines for drinks and snacks. No laundry or business facilities are available, and the property is not ADA-accessible.
