Myrtle Beach State Park is within a 5-minute drive, and the airport is roughly 1-3 km away, making it practical for out-of-state visitors. The immediate area is quieter than the central Boardwalk zone; walking to the tourist shops and Boardwalk takes about 45 minutes. A 2-hour walk reaches Broadway at the Beach. During major events such as Bike Week or Memorial Day weekend, traffic on Ocean Boulevard can cause significant delays, and on-site parking becomes very limited-guetos may need to park in the overflow garage across the street. Public transport and ride-shares are the most reliable ways to explore further during peak periods.

Room types include studios, one- to three-bedroom suites, and villas. All units are air-conditioned and come with a flat-screen cable TV, tea/coffee maker, refrigerator, and safe. Many rooms feature full kitchens with cookware, dishwashers, and dining areas; some efficiencies have a kitchenette. Bedding varies: queen beds, double beds, Murphy beds, and sofa beds are common, and some three-bedroom units sleep up to 8 guests. The property has multiple buildings (Schooner, Pinnacle, Mariner Tower). Schooner building rooms tend to be more dated, while Pinnacle and some Mariner units have been recently renovated. Noise can be an issue: road-facing rooms, rooms near elevators, and units on lower floors near pool areas may pick up outside sound. Hallways can be warm and have a musty odour. For better sleep, request a higher floor in a renovated building and away from the pool or elevator.

The Compass Rose restaurant is open daily from 06:00-11:00 for a traditional Southern breakfast buffet at an additional charge of $10 per adult. The Crow's Nest Oceanfront Bar & Grill (0.5 km from the main building) serves American cuisine for lunch, with ocean views. The Tiki Hut is located near the pools and offers iced drinks and snacks during afternoon hours. A coffee shop is available in the Pinnacle lobby but has limited hours; Starbucks-branded coffee is sold at the gift shop. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are on site. For those who prefer to cook, many rooms include full kitchens or kitchenettes, and BBQ facilities are available on the property.
