The resort is situated on Ocean Boulevard at the southern end of the popular beachfront strip, placing the start of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk within 2 km. Family Kingdom Amusement Park is a 9-minute walk (0.5 km) away, and the 2nd Avenue Pier is less than 2 km north. Major shopping and entertainment complexes-The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, and Coastal Grand Mall-are all within a 8 km drive. The airport is 4 km away, but the resort does not operate a shuttle; local taxi services are available and the front desk can assist with hailing one. While many nearby restaurants, bars, and attractions are walkable along Ocean Boulevard, a car is practical for accessing the full range of dining and shopping options. Public parking is available on adjacent streets for those arriving without a reserved spot.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffee maker, a safe, ironing facilities, and a microwave. Oceanfront rooms in the Tower building (2nd-15th floors) feature a private balcony with full or partial ocean views, a kitchenette or full kitchen with a cooktop and full-sized fridge, and are approximately 33 m² for efficiencies. Junior suites add a separate living area with a sleeper sofa. Low-rise rooms in the Sea Crest or Island Inn buildings are the most affordable, at about 31 m², with two full beds and a mini-fridge-they have no balcony and face the parking lot; some may have stair-only access and a walk-in shower rather than a full tub. Suites have the bedroom separated from the living area by a door, offering additional privacy. No adjoining rooms are available, and rooms on higher floors tend to be quieter. The largest unit is the Ocean Front Executive Suite at 61 m².

The Beach Java Café, located on the 5th floor, is open daily from 7:00-11:00 a.m. and serves Starbucks coffee, espresso, pastries, and hot-off-the-grill breakfast sandwiches (e.g., the Sunrise Sandwich). It is a menu-based cafe, not a complimentary breakfast buffet, and only accepts cards or room charging. The Malibu Beach Bar & Oceanfront Snack Bar is a seasonal, tiki-style bar on the oceanfront pool deck, open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. during summer. It serves a lunch menu including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, fruit plates, and tropical drinks. Live entertainment and karaoke are offered seasonally when weather permits. There is no full-service restaurant on site, but the Ship Store Mini-Mart stocks snacks and toiletries, and numerous dining options are within a short walk or drive along Ocean Boulevard.

All water features are included with the stay and open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The indoor pools, including one lazy river and two hot tubs (heated to 37.8 °C year-round), operate all year. The outdoor water park opens mid-March and features a 15.2 m waterslide (opens April 1) and interactive children's play areas with a submarine and shipwreck theme. A children's activity pool with a frog slide is available for smaller kids. Outdoor pools and the water park typically close around mid-October. The hotel also offers a newly remodeled fitness center on the third floor. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided poolside, but beach chairs are not supplied on the sand. Evening entertainment, including live music and karaoke, takes place at the Malibu Beach Bar. The nearest golf course is within 3 km.

Free private parking requires a reservation and is limited to one vehicle per room; additional vehicles must use public metered parking on adjacent streets. A parking garage is available for vehicles, but trailers and large SUVs may find spaces tight. Wheelchair-accessible rooms and parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be requested directly with the property. The business center on the fifth floor has a computer and printer, and laundry facilities are available for an additional charge. The front desk operates 24/7, offering express check-in/out, concierge and tour desk services. Luggage storage is free. Security includes 24-hour surveillance, key card access, in-room safes, and CCTV. The Ship Store Mini-Mart and gift shop sell snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. Rollaway beds are available for $10 per day, and Pack 'n Play play-yards are offered on a first-come basis. There is no designated smoking in the rooms or on balconies; designated smoking areas are located in the front of the property, with a $250 cleaning fee for violations.
