The French Quarter is a 20-25 minute walk or a short streetcar ride; the stop is just one block away and also provides access to Canal Street, Audubon Park, and Tulane University. The National WWII Museum and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art are less than 10 minutes on foot. Magazine Street, packed with shops, cafés, and restaurants, is a few blocks away. Free parking in a monitored lot at the corner of Prytania and Thalia eliminates the high city-centre parking fees. The area is considered safe and walkable, with several eateries and bars within a three-block radius.

Rooms are spread across a restored 19th-century mansion and adjacent cottages. Bordello rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, clawfoot tubs, or walk-in showers. Cottage rooms (13 total) include handicap-accessible options and have direct courtyard access, though some are compact. Mansion rooms (4 total) offer private balconies, wet bars, and additional space. All rooms provide en suite bathrooms, cable TV, and flat-screen TVs - some with 100+ channels. In-room refrigerators are available only in Deluxe Queen Studio, Superior King, Deluxe King, and Penthouse rooms; the front desk can store items overnight in a central refrigerator. Some rooms have noise from window air-conditioning units or adjacent plumbing, and road-facing units may be less soundproof. Bedrooms on the second floor have narrow stairs that can be challenging with heavy luggage.

Breakfast is served in the main mansion dining room. The hot portion changes daily (e.g., scrambled eggs with home-fried potatoes, shrimp and grits on Sundays) and is accompanied by a continental spread of bagels, muffins, granola, fresh fruit, and locally roasted coffee. The breakfast room provides filtered water, ice, tea, and a microwave available all day for guest use. There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner; however, a wide variety of dining options - from upscale Creole cuisine to casual po-boy shops - are within a few blocks. The property hosts a bar area with live music on Friday nights (Friday Night at the Roadhouse), which is open to the public and often features soul, R&B, and local funk.

The front desk is staffed 24 hours and can assist with tour bookings, pet-friendly recommendations, and general concierge needs. Luggage storage is available for early arrivals (after 8 AM). Daily housekeeping is provided, but room service must be requested at reception. A shared lounge/TV area and a games room are open for guests.
