The hotel sits on a hillside overlooking Gatlinburg. The main downtown strip is within walking distance, though the return involves a steep slope. A trolley stop is just 30.5 m away, and the main trolley station is 1 km. Numerous restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que, Big Daddy's Pizzeria, and Smoky Mountain Brewery. Free on-site parking is available, and the hotel is less than 13 km from Gatlinburg Golf Course. The location provides easy access to both outdoor recreation and town amenities, but the steep hill may be challenging for those with mobility concerns.

Room configurations vary, with options including one- and two-bed layouts. Select suites include a fireplace, spa bath, or balcony with mountain views. Rooms are updated but retain an older motel style. Bed firmness varies; mattresses range from soft to firm. Soundproofing is limited - thin walls mean noise from neighboring rooms can be audible. Construction at an adjoining property may cause daytime noise. Request a room away from the construction area or on a higher floor for quieter conditions. All rooms have a private entrance, heating, and a coffee machine. Some rooms feature a hot tub.

A light continental breakfast is provided at the Econo Lodge, where check-in also takes place. The breakfast is simple but sufficient for starting the day.
