HAMPTON BY HILTON VIENNA MESSE, Vienna

The hotel's position is ideal for business visitors to Messe Wien and Ernst Happel Stadium (2 km), and for families wanting direct access to the Prater amusement park and its green paths leading into the city. Vienna International Airport is 19 km away - take the S7 train to Praterstern (U1 line), then a 12-minute walk or switch to U2 at Praterstern. The U2 Messe-Prater station is a 3-minute walk, and several bus stops are nearby. The area feels safe and is well served by restaurants, including L'Osteria (5-minute walk) and a McDonald's by the station. A shopping mall is two metro stops away. Note that walking to the very centre takes 30-40 minutes.

Rooms are generally clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and blackout curtains that support a good night's sleep. All rooms feature a private bathroom with walk-in shower, free toiletries, a hairdryer, and an iron/ironing board. Soundproof walls reduce street noise, but the corridor door-slamming and noise from the Prater amusement park can be heard if the window is left open - rooms on the park side are more affected. The air conditioning is controlled centrally and can be noisy; switching it off requires opening the window. There is no minibar, fridge, or safe in the room. A communal fridge at reception can store items on request. For light sleepers, a room away from the elevators and the Prater-facing side is recommended.

The breakfast is a highlight for many, offering a wide selection including hot items (scrambled eggs, sausages), cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, pancakes, and a choice of juices and coffee. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free) are available on request. The dining area can become busy during peak hours (around 8:30-9:30), sometimes leading to queues and limited seating. The hotel has no restaurant for lunch or dinner, but there is a lobby bar serving drinks and snacks, and a vending machine with drinks and snacks open 24/7. Several good restaurants, including Italian (L'Osteria) and traditional Viennese options, are within a 5-minute walk.

The fitness room is small - best for 3 people at a time - but well-equipped with cardio machines and weights. The gym is quiet early in the morning and has a large window with a view over the Prater. Beyond the hotel, the Prater park provides free access to jogging and cycling paths, and the amusement park includes an ice-skating rink and boating in warmer months. For those who cycle, bike rental is available nearby and the 10-minute ride to the city centre via the park and Danube cycle paths is a recommended option.
