HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS HOTEL & SUITES FORT LAUDERDALE AIRPORT/CRUISE PORT BY IHG, Fort Lauderdale

The property is 2 km from the Broward County Convention Center, 5 km from Las Olas Shopping, and 6 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Several dining options are within 0.5 km, including Slackers Bar & Grill, Subway, and Dunkin'. A busy highway runs in front of the hotel; crossing on foot is best done at designated lights. Public transport options are limited, so a car or rideshare is recommended for exploring beyond the immediate area. The free airport shuttle covers transfers to and from FLL, but service can be inconsistent and the pickup area requires confirmation with the front desk. For cruise passengers, the shuttle to the port is a paid service at set times.

Room types include double rooms with two beds and suites with a separate seating area and sofa bed. All rooms are non-smoking and feature a wardrobe, ironing facilities, tea/coffee station, and free wired internet. Some rooms are wheelchair accessible with grab rails and a lower sink. While rooms are described as spacious with comfortable beds, the overall condition is dated and repairs may appear unfinished. The carpeting can feel sticky or grungy, and some rooms have a strong chemical or musty smell. Wall panels are thin, so road-facing or upper-floor rooms can be noisy. Key card failures and occasional maintenance issues (e.g., broken blinds, slow elevators) have been noted. There are no balconies, and windows may not open in some rooms.

The breakfast buffet includes eggs, sausages, bagels, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and a selection of juices, coffee, and tea. The coffee is made from a high-quality machine. The breakfast area is small and can become overcrowded; early arrival (before 8:00) is recommended to secure seating. Items may run out later in the service window. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner. Several fast-food and casual dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including Subway, Marina Mile Pizza, and Old Heidelberg Restaurant. No room service is available.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated, has a fence around it, and is open from 07:00 to 17:00 daily. Pool towels are provided. The pool area includes a shallow end for children. The fitness center is free and equipped with weights, treadmills, and a stationary bike. Both areas may experience towel shortages during busy periods. The property does not have a spa or wellness center.
