The hotel sits at 901 Poydras Street, placing it within an easy walk of the Louisiana Superdome (approx. 8 blocks), Harrah's Casino (8 blocks), and the French Quarter and Bourbon Street (4-6 blocks). The St. Charles Avenue streetcar stop is only 1.5-2 blocks away, providing direct access to the Garden District and Uptown. For those arriving by air, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is roughly a 30-minute drive. The area is well served by public transit, with bus stops and streetcar lines nearby making car-free exploration possible. Several restaurants, from pizza to Mexican, are located across the street and within a two-block radius. Riverwalk shopping and the aquarium are at the end of Poydras Street.

The complimentary breakfast buffet includes hot options like scrambled eggs, sausages, and sometimes potatoes, plus continental items such as bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, and a coffee station. On weekdays, the breakfast is served on proper dishes; weekends may use disposable plates and cutlery. The hotel also hosts an evening social (Monday-Thursday) with complimentary wine, salad, and soup, providing a light meal option. For other dining needs, the kitchenette in each suite allows for simple meal preparation. Numerous restaurants are within a short walk, including pizza, Mexican, and Southern-style eateries. Breakfast can get crowded, especially near closing time.

The indoor pool is open from 9am to 10pm daily and is accessible only to registered guests after checking in at the front desk. The pool is heated and open year-round, though occasional maintenance or water quality issues have been noted. A fitness centre is provided free of charge for guests who wish to work out. The property also features a business centre, but there is no spa or additional wellness facilities on site. The pool area can be a welcome retreat after exploring the city, especially in cooler months.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk can assist with express check-in/out, luggage storage, and an ATM on site. Security features include key card access, CCTV, and a safety deposit box. Valet parking is offered at $45 per night (plus tax) with limited hours on certain days; a nearby self-park garage charges around $25 for overnight stays. Pets are allowed but may incur additional charges. Paid laundry and dry cleaning services are offered, as are meeting/banquet facilities. The property is wheelchair accessible and offers accessible parking. Housekeeping is generally provided every other day, though daily service can be arranged. Some reports note that the front desk can be understaffed during peak times, and the luggage storage is a useful option for those arriving before check-in.
