The St. Charles streetcar line runs directly in front of the property, providing easy access to the Garden District and other neighbourhoods. The Amtrak station is 2 km away and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is 24 km from the hotel. While the immediate area is busy and feels safe during the day, some visitors prefer to use rideshares after dark. Several restaurants, a small grocery store, and a bakery are within a 5-minute walk.

The hotel offers a variety of room types including standard double rooms, king rooms, and spacious two-room suites with separate living areas. All rooms include air conditioning, a coffee machine, microwave, mini-fridge, and flat-screen TV with cable channels. The 5:30 Kickback offers a rotating menu of hot dogs, nachos, gumbo, salad, pulled pork sandwiches, and other items, along with three alcoholic drink tickets per person for beer, wine, or cocktails. The on-site restaurant, The Kitchen + Bar at Cumberland Switch, serves dinner. Many find the included meals a great value, though the Kickback menu can become repetitive for stays longer than a few days. The surrounding area has numerous dining options for those seeking variety.

The rooftop pool area provides loungers and towels, and the hot tub is well-maintained. The fitness centre is open 24 hours and includes modern equipment. Coin-operated laundry is available on the same floor. There is no spa on site.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas. The 24-hour front desk can assist with tours and transportation. A business centre and meeting/banquet facilities are available for an additional charge.
