HAMPTON INN & SUITES NEW ORLEANS DOWNTOWN FRENCH QUARTER AREA, New Orleans

The hotel sits at 226 Carondelet Street, placing you within a 2-block walk of Canal Street and the historic French Quarter. Bourbon Street is less than 1 km away, Harrah's Casino is 640 m, and Jackson Square is 950 m. A streetcar stop is directly outside the hotel, providing easy access to the French Quarter, the Garden District, and the Convention Center. Multiple restaurants (Luke, Domenica, Oceana Grill) are within a 0.5 km radius. The immediate street can feel lively due to foot traffic, but the hotel's 24-hour front desk, key card elevator access, and security measures help maintain a safe environment. Parking is off-site only: valet costs $58.89/night, or you can use a nearby public garage (approx. $25-$30 per day). The Superdome is walkable, making this a practical base for events.

Rooms offer either 1 king bed or 2 queen beds, with some studio suites and one-bedroom suites available. All rooms include a 42" flat-screen TV, work desk, coffee machine, microwave, compact refrigerator, safe, ironing facilities, and air conditioning/heating. Views can be requested at booking but are not guaranteed; rooms on higher floors tend to be quieter. The bathrooms - some with accessible tubs or shower chairs available on request - are clean but can lack adequate towel hooks. Noise insulation is average: road-facing rooms may hear street sounds, and interior rooms can pick up hallway noise. Housekeeping is every other day by default. Some rooms appear dated with occasional maintenance issues (stained carpets, worn furniture), but the overall space is generous for New Orleans. Balconies are not available.

The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and runs from 7:00 to 10:00 am daily. Offerings include make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs, grits/oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, juice, milk, tea, and coffee. Cooked items such as sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, and potatoes rotate. The breakfast area is on the 4th floor and can get busy; dishes are served on disposable plates with plastic cutlery. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but numerous dining options (Luke, Domenica, Oceana Grill) are within a short walk. A water refill station is available in the breakfast area. Special dietary requests (e.g., gluten-free) can be accommodated with advance notice.

The fitness centre is located on the 12th floor and is free for guests. It features working cardio machines and basic strength equipment. There is no swimming pool, spa, or sauna on-site. The hotel's central location puts you within walking distance of the French Quarter's nightlife, Bourbon Street, and the Riverwalk, so leisure options are abundant outside the property. For those attending events, the Superdome and Convention Center are nearby.
