The hostal is conveniently situated on Calle Hortaleza, a short 2-minute walk from Gran Via's restaurants. Chueca provides a vibrant neighbourhood atmosphere, and the Prado Museum is within a 15-minute walk. Several metro stations and numerous shops, bars, and cafés are steps away, making it easy to explore the city on foot or by public transport. The area is very central but can be noisy, especially at night; the neighbourhood is also known as the gay district, which some travellers should be aware of.

Standard double rooms are often noted as being very small, with some bathrooms being particularly compact and fitted with old shower units or shower curtains. Beds and pillows in some rooms receive conflicting feedback, with reports of beds that are uncomfortable, squeaky, or have a sunken mattress. Rooms with windows facing the street or the internal courtyard can suffer from noise transmitted from other rooms and the reception area, as soundproofing is minimal. Family rooms (sleeping up to 4 or 5) provide more space. Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge, and towels are changed daily. Rooms include heating, a flat-screen TV (mostly Spanish channels), and an alarm clock; there is no minibar or tea/coffee-making facilities in the room.

Drinks and snacks are available via a vending machine on site. There is no restaurant or breakfast included with the room. The location is within a 2-minute walk of Gran Via, where numerous restaurants of various cuisines are clustered (e.g., El Tigre, Steakburger Gran Via, Mama Ines, Sushiwakka Express, Restaurante El Tesoro, Fratelli d'Italia Chueca). Several supermarkets and cafés are also nearby.

The main leisure facility is the large roof terrace, furnished with outdoor furniture and offering views of the city. It provides a pleasant space to sit, have a drink from the vending machine, or enjoy the Madrid sunshine or moonlight. There are no other wellness or leisure facilities such as a pool, spa, or gym.

The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, express check-in/check-out, tour desk, and a free luggage storage room where bags can be left securely after check-out or before check-in. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. A lift provides access to the hostal on the 5th floor. Safety features include CCTV in common areas, CCTV outside the property, key access, and fire extinguishers. A paid shuttle service can be arranged. The hostal also has a designated smoking area.
