HOSTAL ANTON MARTIN, Madrid

Hostal Anton Martin sits on a bustling street in the Letras district, surrounded by numerous restaurants, bars, and tapas spots. The Prado Museum and the 'Golden Triangle' of art museums are a 10-15 minute walk away, while Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace are also within easy walking distance. The Antón Martín metro station is effectively at the doorstep, providing direct connections to the Atocha train station (15 minutes on foot) and the airport. For shorter hops around the city centre, almost all major sights can be reached on foot. Parking is available nearby (for a fee and with advance booking), but the neighbourhood is best explored without a car.

Rooms at Hostal Anton Martin are clean and practical, with parquet floors, soundproof walls, and a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. Most rooms are compact, though some are more spacious and some units include a balcony with city views. Rooms with an interior courtyard tend to be darker but quieter, while street-facing rooms can have noise exposure - closing the windows ensures a more peaceful sleep. All rooms feature air conditioning, heating, a safe, and a wardrobe. Some rooms also include a coffee pod machine and a minibar. The rooms are cleaned daily, and free luggage storage is available. A persistent green light on the ceiling in some rooms can be disruptive for sleep - a sleep mask is advisable. The building has a lift, making access to upper floors straightforward.

The property provides access to a fitness centre equipped with treadmills and other equipment for a fee of €2 per 90-minute session. A public bath is also available at no extra cost. There is no spa, swimming pool, or dedicated leisure area on site. For recreation, guests are well placed to explore Madrid's cultural and nightlife offerings on foot or by metro.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property and works well for general browsing and streaming. Daily housekeeping keeps the rooms tidy, and towels are changed regularly. Free luggage storage is offered both before check-in and after check-out, which is convenient for late flights. A laundry service is available for an extra charge. The main reception is not on site but at Hostal Cervello, where guests can also arrange concierge services and parking reservations. The building uses key card access and has CCTV and smoke alarms. A safety deposit box is provided in each room. Cots are available on request. The property is entirely non-smoking.
