HOTAKU HOTEL AKIHABARA, Tokyo

The hotel sits in a calm residential pocket of Chiyoda-ku, away from major road noise yet well-connected. Iwamotocho Station is just 2 minutes on foot, Akihabara Station (JR Yamanote Line) is 7-15 minutes away, and Kanda Station is also walkable in about 7 minutes. From Narita Airport, take the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori (50 min, ¥2,600), then JR Yamanote to Akihabara (8 min, ¥160), followed by a 7-minute walk. Haneda Airport is 19 km from the hotel - a taxi takes around 20 minutes. The area offers multiple metro lines, a grocery store (Aeon mini mart) within 100 metres, and several restaurants and convenience stores on the same block.

All rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking, with free Wi-Fi and a TV with satellite channels. The private bathrooms are well-appointed with a separate toilet, bidet, free toiletries, and a bath. Double, twin, and triple rooms each come with a balcony, while the triple also offers a terrace. For larger groups, a 3-bedroom holiday home with 6 beds and a 3-bedroom suite with 7 beds include a washing machine, electric kettle, and sofa. Extra space is a standout feature - rooms are noticeably larger than typical budget Tokyo properties, making them suitable for travellers accustomed to more room. The separate bathroom and toilet layout is a practical advantage for groups. Some rooms face the road, so light sleepers may prefer a quieter aspect.

The hotel does not serve breakfast or have a restaurant, which keeps the room rate low. However, within a 300-metre radius there are at least eight dining options, including a soba shop, yakitori restaurant, gyudon chain (Sukiya), and Vietnamese pho. A grocery store (Aeon mini mart) is less than a minute away for snacks and drinks. The shared lounge has a microwave and free water, useful for heating up takeaway food. For a fuller morning meal, nearby cafés serve breakfast. For guests arriving on the Shinkansen from Haneda, many restaurants at Tokyo Station are only one stop away on the Yamanote Line.

Wellness facilities are limited to the shared lounge/TV area on the ground floor, which provides a comfortable setting to unwind, use the microwave, or enjoy free water. The hotel's quiet location is itself a leisure asset - a calm retreat after a day in busy Akihabara. For active leisure, several parks are within walking distance: Jisshi Park and Akihabara Park (6 minutes), Izumi Park (800 metres), and Yanagimori Shrine (500 metres). The surrounding neighbourhood is safe for evening walks, and the proximity to multiple metro lines makes it easy to reach larger parks or cultural sites such as Sensō-ji.
