HOTEL DEUTSCHES THEATER LANDWEHRSTRASSE, Munich

Hotel Deutsches Theater Landwehrstraße is situated in a vibrant area 31 km from Munich Airport, with Karlsplatz and the main train station just minutes away. The location puts all major sights within walking distance: Asamkirche is 700 metres, Frauenkirche is 1 km, and Marienplatz is about 15 minutes on foot. The surrounding streets are lined with Turkish restaurants, bakeries, and bars, creating a lively but noisy atmosphere, especially at night. A bakery is a 1-minute walk for a quick breakfast. The area includes a mix of multicultural establishments; the immediate vicinity can feel less secure after dark, though public transport connections via tram and U-Bahn are excellent.

The accommodation consists of double, twin, and triple rooms, all with private bathrooms, soundproof walls, and parquet floors. Each room features a flat-screen TV, a work desk, and a wardrobe. Some double rooms offer an inner courtyard view or a seating area. Triple rooms are available with 3 beds, and the property has a lift serving all floors. Many rooms are spacious, especially those on higher floors, though some twin configurations use two single beds pushed together which can be uncomfortable for couples. There is no air conditioning; a standing fan is provided in summer, but rooms facing the street can be very noisy until late. Some bathrooms show wear with mould, broken fixtures, and low water pressure. The property is older and basic, prioritising practical needs over modern decor.

The restaurant offers Italian, Mediterranean, seafood, steakhouse, local, and European cuisines, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Dinner and cocktails are served daily from 17:00 to midnight. Special diet menus are available on request, and an extra charge applies for wine or champagne. Breakfast is not included in the rate but can be purchased for €10 per person; options are limited to a continental buffet. There is no coffee or tea service in the rooms, but a vending machine and coffee machine are available in the lobby. The surrounding area has several Turkish restaurants, a bakery a minute away, and a coffee shop at the end of the street.

The property provides free Wi-Fi throughout, a minimarket, a coffee shop, a hairdresser, and a shared lounge. Luggage storage is free, which is useful for early arrivals or late departures. On-site private parking costs €24 per day and requires advance reservation. Pets are allowed with applicable charges. Reception is staffed from 08:00 to 23:00; outside these hours, self-check-in is possible. Housekeeping is available on request. The lift serves all floors, and the hotel has CCTV and smoke alarms for safety.
