SUPERIOR HOTEL PRAESIDENT, Munich

The hotel is three blocks from the main train station, providing direct rail and S-Bahn access to Munich Airport, the Theresienwiese Oktoberfest grounds, and Marienplatz square. The surrounding neighbourhood has a lively, diverse character with Arab and Syrian shops, grocery stores, and restaurants within a few minutes' walk. The immediate area also has some strip clubs and can feel lively or intimidating late at night, particularly for solo travellers. Despite this, many find it safe during the day and conveniently walkable to the city's main attractions in about 10 minutes. A cafe is located opposite the hotel.

Rooms vary in size, with some described as fair-sized for a single traveller and others noted as small. Street-facing rooms have air conditioning but can be very noisy from traffic and street life, especially at night; courtyard-facing rooms are quieter but only supplied with a small fan, so they can become warm. Windows can be opened for ventilation, but opening street-facing windows significantly increases noise. The decor is older and basic, with carpeted floors and an older-style feel. Some have noted that the curtains are not fully blackout and that street light can filter in. There is no balcony, no coffee/tea making facilities in the room, and extra beds or cots are not available for all room types.

The hotel offers a basic breakfast buffet with bread, pastries, cereal, yogurts, fruit, hot drinks and some hot options including vegetarian choices. A larger buffet can be booked at the partner hotel a few streets away. Breakfast is served Monday to Friday 07:00-10:00, weekends 07:00-10:30. Since mid-2025, the main hotel breakfast may have been replaced by a coffee-to-go option and vouchers for the sister hotel, so confirm the current arrangement at check-in. There is no restaurant on site for lunch or dinner, but the lobby offers complimentary coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, water, detox water, soft drinks, fruit, apples, yogurts, bread, croissants, and sweet and savoury pastries throughout the day. Many restaurants, including Thai, Chinese, German, Italian and bakeries, are within a 5-minute walk. Packed lunches can be organised on request.

No wellness or leisure facilities are available on site. The hotel does have a small bar, and the immediate area offers diverse restaurants and cafes. For leisure activities, guests rely on the city's attractions, parks, and the Oktoberfest venue, all within walking distance.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and supports multiple devices. Luggage storage is available free of charge before check-in and after check-out; bags are stored in the lobby area. The hotel has a small bar and a lift (fits two to three people). Express check-in/check-out is available, and the reception staff can arrange tours. A laundry service is offered for an extra fee (drop-off in the morning, return next day). The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle but is steps from the train station. Bicycles can be stored in the basement (no lift access). Private parking is available at a nearby garage for €19 per day; reservation is required. Pets are not allowed.
