The location is ideal for walking to most attractions, and the tram stop is a short walk for trips further out. Expect a lively, busy neighbourhood, especially in the evenings.

The hotel offers rooms for 1 to 5 people, each with a wash basin, TV and Wi-Fi. Some rooms share a bathroom, while others have an en suite or a private bathroom located in the hallway. Rooms for 5 are available either with a private shower (toilet is hallway-shared) or shared bathroom. A ground-floor room can be requested, but availability depends on booking and demand. The property is an old canal house without air conditioning, so rooms can get hot in summer; a fan is provided. Heating is available but some have noted its performance as weak. Rooms are small and basic, with limited storage and dated decor. Bed types: single beds for one person, double beds made from two single mattresses pushed together on a frame with wheels (the bed may slide apart). Some rooms have a canal view; others face the street (street-facing rooms can be noisy). No rooms have a balcony. The property has no lift; stairs are very steep, which is typical for Amsterdam.
