HOTEL MERCURIO, Venice

The hotel is within a short walk of all major Venetian sights: Doge's Palace, Rialto Bridge, and the Guggenheim Museum (10 minutes). The Giglio vaporetto water-bus stop is 5 minutes away, providing direct line 1 and 2 services to Santa Lucia train station and connections to Marco Polo Airport via Alilaguna. For airport transfers, take the Alilaguna ferry to San Marco (€16) or the ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma plus vaporetto (total ~€15.50). From the train station, water-bus line 2 to Rialto or San Marco takes about 25 minutes. The area is lively yet the hotel's street remains peaceful. Note that no elevator means climbing stairs from the street and to rooms, and cobblestone lanes can be challenging with luggage; the bellboy service and luggage storage are useful for this.

Breakfast is available as part of the Bed & Breakfast or Breakfast & Appetizer packages, or can be purchased separately for €25 per person. It can be served in-room on request. The buffet is varied, with different items each day, and includes made-to-order coffee. On Sundays, breakfast is served until 12:00 and check-out is until 15:00. The hotel does not have a full restaurant for lunch or dinner, but a bar is open for drinks and conversation. The Breakfast & Appetizer option includes an evening aperitif with Venetian cicchetti (drinks not included). Numerous dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including Ristorante Antico Martini, Trattoria Cherubino, and Vino Vino. For maximum flexibility, choose the Room Only rate and explore the local food scene.

The hotel offers express check-in/out, currency exchange, safety deposit boxes, and bellboy service for luggage. Luggage storage is free and available before check-in and after check-out, making it easy to explore Venice without bags. A coffee machine in the dining room is accessible 24 hours. Room service is available for breakfast and drinks. The property is non-smoking throughout and provides air conditioning, heating, and family rooms. Baby cots can be provided. Fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are installed. Accessibility is limited: no elevator, and the only ground-floor suite still requires climbing four stairs. Guests with heavy luggage can use the porter service, but packing light is advisable. Pets are not allowed. Payment by Visa and MasterCard is accepted.
