CASA ACCADEMIA, Venice

Casa Accademia is an easy walk from the Accademia Bridge across the Grand Canal, putting St. Mark's Square 15 minutes away and the Rialto Bridge 1 km from the property. The Accademia (line 2) and Zattere (lines 1, 5.1, 5.2, 6, 10, 20) vaporetto stops are both within 5-10 minutes, giving direct routes to the train station and Marco Polo Airport. The neighbourhood is noticeably quieter than the tourist-packed areas, with plenty of cafés, gelaterias and restaurants within a few steps.

The rooms vary: standard single rooms are on the first floor with a regular single bed, while superior single rooms are on the third floor and have a queen-size bed and a rooftop view. Superior double rooms can have a view of the Salute church. All rooms have a wardrobe, a desk, an electric kettle (some also include tea and coffee), and either tiled or marble flooring. Bathrooms are private with a shower. The property has no balcony rooms and no televisions. Rooms can be compact, with single beds described as narrow. Light sleepers may want to avoid rooms facing the internal courtyard because noise from upper floors and corridors can travel. Air conditioning and soundproofing are present, but in some cases the AC has been unreliable on the third floor. The family room is notably larger and includes a microwave and mini-fridge.

Breakfast is a continental buffet including bread, pastries, butter, jam, cheese, ham, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea. Practically, the selection is simple and consistent, and the bread is pre-sliced toast bread rather than fresh rolls. The breakfast room can feel cramped when busy, and refills may lag during peak times. Several restaurants, cafés and a vending machine for drinks and snacks are within a three-minute walk, including Al Vecio Forner and Venice Pasta's Academy.

Casa Accademia does not have a swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. The outdoor spaces include a shared rooftop terrace with views over the neighbourhood and a ground-floor courtyard garden with outdoor furniture. These are the only leisure facilities on site.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and luggage storage is available from 8am to 8pm at no charge. The reception is open from 8am to 8pm; outside these hours, guests with keys can enter and exit freely using a key fob. Check-in is contactless via Whatsapp with prior communication. The building has a lift and wheelchair-accessible rooms, including an emergency cord in the bathroom and a toilet with grab rails. Other services include a chapel/shrine, a vending machine for drinks/snacks, and meeting/banquet facilities for an additional charge. Daily housekeeping is not standard and must be requested, but the cleaning standard has been reported as inconsistent.
