HOSTEL MOSAIC, Rome

The hostel is set on a quiet street just a 7-minute walk from Roma Termini, the city's main railway and metro hub. Repubblica Metro station is 500 metres away, providing direct links to the Spanish Steps and St. Peter's Square, while Castro Pretorio Metro (7 minutes on foot) connects to the Colosseum. Trevi Fountain is a 20-25-minute walk, and the Vatican is about 45-50 minutes on foot. Several restaurants, trattorias, and a wine bar are within 0.5 km. The area is safe and well-served by buses and trams, making it easy to reach all major attractions without a car.

Accommodation includes mixed-gender dormitories (2-bed, 4-bed, and larger) and private rooms (double, twin, triple, quadruple). All rooms are air-conditioned and come with free Wi-Fi, a desk, a flat-screen TV, a safe deposit box, and heating. Private rooms feature an en-suite bathroom with shower, bidet, and tiled floors; dormitory bathrooms may be either shared (located outside the room) or private (inside the room). Some rooms have a refrigerator. Bed linens are included; towels are provided free in private rooms and available for €2 hire in dorms. The property's older building means soundproofing is limited and road-facing rooms or those near the water heater can experience significant noise. Rooms are generally spacious but some furnishings show wear; metal bunk beds in dorms can be noisy. Lockers are fitted in every room; bring your own padlock or borrow one from reception.

The hostel does not serve breakfast, but complimentary coffee, cappuccino, and hot chocolate are available from a machine between 7:30 and 11:00 daily. A small communal area provides a microwave, fridge, and kettle - suitable for storing and preparing simple snacks or cold meals. There is no stove or full kitchen. A vending machine offers drinks and snacks around the clock. Many restaurants, pizzerias, and a wine bar are within a few minutes' walk, making outside dining a convenient option.

The hostel does not have a spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, or sauna. Leisure amenities are limited to a shared lounge/TV area where you can relax, use the free Wi-Fi, or socialise with other travellers. The complimentary morning hot drinks and the vending machine for snacks/drinks are the only other on-site leisure features. The location near Termini station means you can easily access Rome's parks, museums, and cultural sites on foot or by public transport.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property free of charge. The 24-hour front desk offers a range of practical services: free luggage storage on check-in and check-out days, locker rental (with free use of your own padlock or a €5 refundable deposit for a loaner), and safety deposit boxes. A paid airport shuttle can be arranged (from €50 for up to 3 people); alternatively, the Leonardo Express train runs to Fiumicino in 32 minutes (€14) and a local bus takes about 55 minutes (€7). Daily housekeeping is included, and fresh towels are provided on request for private rooms. An iron and ironing board are available. The lift serves all floors but is small (fits one person at a time). No laundry facility is on-site, but a self-service laundrette is located just around the corner.
