MOXY AMSTERDAM HOUTHAVENS, Amsterdam

The hotel occupies a quiet, modern pier-side location surrounded by businesses and design studios, offering tranquil harbour views but no immediate residential or tourist bustle. Amsterdam Central Station is a 12-minute bus ride away (bus 48 stop about 4 minutes on foot). Anne Frank House and the 9 Streets are 4 km away, Dam Square 5 km. Schiphol Airport is 13 km. The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available. Nearest dining includes Woods (0.5 km), Pont 13 Food & Drinks (1 km), 24/7 Burgerhouse (1 km) and Day and Night Pizza (1 km). The Westerpark district is 2 km. Because of the distance to the centre and limited shops nearby, a day trip means returning to the hotel mid-day is impractical without planning. The surroundings are safe and quiet, with minimal car noise and good water views.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with bread, pastries, juice, coffee, and hot drinks - adequate for a start, though considered basic for a 4-star hotel. There is no restaurant on site; evening food is limited to items such as pizza and panini from the lobby bar (service can be slow). The bar operates 24/7 and serves wines, beers, cocktails and soft drinks - bottled water costs around 5 EUR. Special diet menus (including vegan options) are available on request. Nearby independent options within walking distance include Woods (0.5 km) and Pont 13 Food & Drinks (1 km) for a wider meal. For cheaper snacks, a minimarket is also on site.

The indoor pool is heated, open all year, and offers pool/beach towels - however, it is relatively small and swimwear is mandatory. The sauna is available for relaxation. The fitness centre is open 24 hours with free access, good equipment and locker rooms. Evening entertainment includes live music and performances (e.g. DJ nights), and there is a games room with table football. Bicycle rental is available on site for exploring the quiet area or cycling into the city. For peak August, the pool requires a time slot reservation at the desk - helpful to know for planning. The wellness area is included in the room rate.

The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out, private check-in/out, safety deposit box, invoice provision, and free luggage storage (useful for early arrivals or late departures). Each floor has a free ironing room. A business centre, meeting/banquet facilities, and fax/photocopying are available for additional charges. Laundry (dry cleaning) is available at extra cost. Accessibility features include wheelchair access, emergency cord, lower sink, raised toilet with grab rails, and lift access. Pets are allowed with a 30 EUR/night fee, and pet bowls are provided. The hotel is fully non-smoking, with designated smoking area. Safety includes CCTV, electronic key cards, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Electric vehicle charging stations are available (complimentary). Check-in and check-out processes can sometimes be slow, and staff levels at the front desk/bar may cause wait times. Communication for special requests works best when confirmed with the morning shift.
