Onefam Amstel is situated in De Pijp, one of Amsterdam's liveliest districts, filled with markets, cafés, and diverse dining - restaurants like Bazar, Zaza's, and SLA are within a 5-minute walk. The tram stop at the door and nearby metro stations provide easy access to the city centre, museums, and the RAI Convention Centre in under 20 minutes. The area is safe and walkable, with excellent public transport even late at night. For those driving, no parking is available on site, but safe bicycle parking is offered in front of the building.

The hostel offers private rooms (approx. 14 m2 for a twin with private bathroom, or 18 m2 for a two-bed private) and shared dormitories (e.g., 12-bed mixed dorm with bunk beds and shared bathroom). The private rooms are compact but functional, while the dorms can feel very cramped with minimal floor space. Rooms are heated, have no air conditioning, and some have very limited natural ventilation - the small windows in some rooms cannot open far. Noise from hallways, neighbouring rooms, and the street is common, as is noise from late-returning guests. Lockers are provided in the lobby and some rooms, but they are small - suitable for a backpack only; no secure storage for larger luggage. Bed linens are provided, and a housekeeping service is offered.

This hostel does not offer breakfast or an on-site restaurant. Guests have access to a shared kitchen and a coffee house on site for basic refreshments. The surrounding De Pijp neighbourhood is packed with restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets within a few minutes' walk - options include Bazar (0.5 km), Frankie Bos, and many others for a full meal or a morning pastry. The hostel sometimes organises free dinners as part of its social activities, but these are not a daily service and rely on tips.

Wellness facilities such as a swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre are not available. Leisure instead revolves around the hostel's social programme: daily activities like pub crawls, walking tours, board games, and evening entertainment in the games room and shared lounge. The building has a garden and a terrace open until 22:00, which are popular spots for relaxed socialising. The adjacent Sarphatipark provides green space for walks or sitting out.

The hostel provides free Wi-Fi in all areas, a 24-hour front desk (though services are limited during the night), and free luggage storage for exploring the city after check-out. Lockers are available in the lobby and some rooms. Towels can be rented for €2. The shared facilities include a lounge/TV area, a kitchen for guest use, and a games room. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, and fire extinguishers. Card and cash are accepted on arrival, but cash is strongly recommended to avoid a 5% card surcharge. No lift is present; stairs are steep. Staff can assist with carrying heavy luggage.
