PENSION ALAMAR, Barcelona

The pension sits on a pedestrian street in the Gothic Quarter, placing major landmarks within a short walk - Boqueria Market is 600 metres away, Plaça de Catalunya a 13-minute walk, and the Picasso Museum 8 minutes. Sant Miquel Beach is reachable in 19 minutes on foot. Liceu metro station is about 10 minutes away, with multiple bus stops for city and airport connections. The area is very lively at night, with bars and restaurants until the early hours; rooms facing the street can be noisy. A taxi drop-off point is not at the door - expect a short walk from the nearest accessible street.

Rooms include single, twin, and double options, each fitted with a wardrobe, a sink in the room, and a small balcony in many cases. The shared bathrooms (two per floor) are kept very clean but are tiny - taller or plus-sized guests may find them cramped. Sound insulation is poor: thin walls and a common corridor mean noise from the TV, conversations, and other doors carries easily. Rooms facing the street hear late-night street life; quieter back rooms are an option on request. The property is older and very basic, but the daily housekeeping ensures a spotless environment. The beds are comfortable, and heating is controlled centrally.

Pension Alamar does not have a spa, swimming pool, or gym. All wellness and leisure activities rely on the surrounding neighbourhood. The Gothic Quarter is perfect for walking tours, with historic sites, shops, and cafes. Sant Miquel and Barceloneta beaches are within a 20-minute walk, and the Olympic Port area for watersports is easily reachable. For relaxation, guests can enjoy the communal spaces or the small balcony offered in some rooms.
