PENSION PRAGUE CITY, Prague

The pension is in the Žižkov neighbourhood (Prague 3), a former working-class area that has evolved into a lively cultural district. The historic centre is within a comfortable 10-15 minute walk, or you can take tram 9 from the nearby stops and reach Wenceslas Square in about three stops. Night trams 55 and 58 run past the same stops for late returns. From Václav Havel Airport, take bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín, metro line A to Můstek, then tram 9. From the Main Railway Station, trams 5, 9 or 26 are a two-stop ride to Lipanská. The neighbourhood is filled with authentic Czech pubs, international restaurants, bakeries and small supermarkets including a Lidl, all within a few minutes' walk. Many parks are a 5-minute stroll away, making the area suitable for both sightseeing and relaxation.

Standard rooms (50 available) include a private bathroom with bathtub or shower and WC, satellite TV, and heating. Some rooms - including four attic rooms - have air conditioning for an additional daily fee. Comfort rooms consist of two separate rooms, typically with a double bed plus one or two single beds, and allow extra beds. Family rooms can accommodate up to 6 people in a single room with multiple beds. Two apartments are available with a kitchenette (refrigerator, kitchenware) for an extra daily fee; these can sleep up to 4 guests. All rooms have free Wi-Fi. Amenities such as a hairdryer, kettle, iron and ironing board, and tableware can be borrowed from reception at no extra cost. The property is older and rooms vary; some have dated furniture and thin mattresses, and rooms on upper floors can feel compact. Road-facing rooms may pick up street noise and late-night activity from the bar opposite, while rear rooms tend to be quieter. The ground-floor front room has a barred window facing the pavement, which provides little privacy. No lift is available - rooms are spread across up to six floors, so guests with heavy luggage or mobility difficulties should request a lower floor.

A buffet breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 at the nearby SOU100 restaurant, costing 160 CZK (8 EUR) per person. The spread includes two types of ham, salami, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, pâté, cornflakes, yogurt, fruit, vegetables, toast, bread, butter, jam, honey, tea, coffee and two types of juice. The breakfast price is separate from the room rate. For evening meals, the property offers a fresh warm dinner with soup and salad by arrangement, suitable for groups and vegetarians upon request. As there is no restaurant on site, the surrounding Žižkov streets provide many affordable international and Czech dining options within a 300-metre radius, including Pivoteka Žižkoff, Bistrot Valentino and Sou100, many open until late or offering delivery.

Wellness facilities are not available within the pension. However, the Žižkov neighbourhood provides several leisure alternatives within a short walk. A wellness centre and Thai massage are located nearby, and there is a bowling alley and room escape venue in the vicinity. Several parks are reachable within 5 minutes on foot, suitable for jogging, picnicking or quiet relaxation. The property can arrange bike tours and walking tours (for an additional charge), and the iconic Žižkov TV Tower and the Vitkov Hill park with its Jan Žižka monument are a 10-minute stroll away.

High-speed wireless internet is available free of charge in all areas of the pension, and two desktop computers at the reception offer free printing for boarding passes and tickets. Luggage storage is free of charge, allowing guests to explore the city before check-in or after check-out. Parking is available at a nearby location but is limited and must be reserved in advance - it costs €13 per night for a regular car, €15 for a large SUV, and €20 for a minivan. A paid shuttle service can be arranged upon request, but the property does not operate a dedicated airport shuttle. Self-check-out is possible for early departures. A safe at reception is free to use. Pets are allowed on request at 150 CZK per night. Items such as a fast-boiling kettle, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, and cell phone charger can be borrowed from reception at no additional cost. Laundry service is available for a fee. The reception desk is staffed from check-in until 22:00; outside these hours, access is via a door PIN and guests are expected to follow the self-check-out procedure.
