SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO, Tokyo

The hotel sits on the west side of Ikebukuro, a lively district with hundreds of restaurants, bars, and shops. The station gives access to the Yamanote Line (10-15 minutes to Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya) as well as metro and private railway lines. Narita Airport is reachable in about one hour via the Keisei Skyliner, and Haneda Airport in about 50 minutes by train. An airport limousine bus also stops at Ikebukuro Station West Exit at an extra charge. The immediate area includes convenience stores, halal dining options, and a 7-Eleven on the corner. Luggage storage is available at the 24-hour reception, and the hotel is just off the main road, which helps keep street noise moderate.

Private rooms include a flat-screen TV, fridge, air conditioning, and either a private or a shared bathroom, depending on the booking. The standard double room contains one semi-double bed; a private bathroom is standard for this room type. Japanese-style rooms feature tatami flooring and futon bedding, suitable for families. For groups, the quad room has three beds and a shared bathroom, while family rooms offer kitchenette facilities. Dormitory rooms feature multiple metal-framed bunk beds; guests make their own bed with provided linens. Luggage storage space inside rooms is limited, particularly in smaller rooms. The building has a lift. All rooms are non-smoking. Air conditioning and heating are available. Some rooms are reported to show signs of age, and noise from hallway doors and plumbing can be present, especially on lower floors.

Breakfast is served from 04:30 to 11:00 at the on-site cafe, featuring toast, butter, jam, soup, and coffee or tea. The breakfast is included in some rates, or available for 500 JPY. The cafe-restaurant also serves lunch and dinner until around 21:00, with a menu that includes curry, pizza, burgers, fish and chips, and a range of international beers. A shared kitchen is available for guests to prepare their own meals, equipped with cookware and utensils. The hotel is located in a dense dining area: within 0.5 km you will find steakhouses, sushi, Chinese cuisine, cocktail bars, and Mexican food. There is a kid-friendly buffet option, and the restaurant has a bar and coffee house on site.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. The 24-hour front desk provides concierge service, currency exchange, and free luggage storage both before check-in and after check-out. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are located on the first floor. A shared kitchen with cookware and utensils is on the 7th floor. Public transport tickets can be purchased at reception (additional charge). Business services include fax/photocopying (fee), and laundry service (fee). Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, and key card access. A vending machine for drinks is also on site. The hotel does not have a parking lot, but private parking is available nearby for ¥2000 per day with a reservation. There is no elevator to all floors; the building has a lift.
