HANDEL'S HOTEL, Dublin

Handel's Hotel occupies a historic street in the Temple Bar area, known for its cobbled lanes and lively pub scene. Despite being in the entertainment district, the street itself is calm. The Porterhouse and St John Gogarty are a five-minute walk, and Dublin Castle is under ten minutes on foot. The Gallery of Photography and Irish Film Institute are also five minutes away. For airport access, the Dublin Express 782 bus stops at Wellington Quay, a couple of minutes' walk, making car-free city access straightforward. The immediate area offers a wide density of restaurants, pubs, and cafes all within a few hundred metres.

Room types include single, double, twin, triple, and family rooms. All have en-suite bath or walk-in shower, plus tea and coffee maker, safe, hairdryer, iron, and carpeted or tiled floor. Some rooms are more dated and may have single-glazed windows, which allow street and pub noise to enter. Rooms near the lift or housekeeping storage can be noisy from early morning. A deluxe single has only a skylight window. For quieter stays, rooms facing the back are preferable. Many rooms are compact, and a few have a bed pushed into a corner. Air conditioning is not available in all rooms; a fan is provided, and windows can be opened for fresh air. Some rooms have been renovated and feel modern and clean, while others are older but functional.

The breakfast buffet offers a range of hot items and continental choices including cereal, yoghurt, toast, and pastries. Coffee pods for the in-room machine are replenished daily. There is no bar or restaurant on-site; the hotel's bar and restaurant were under renovation but are now available. Several excellent pubs and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away, such as F.X. Buckley Steakhouse, Darkey Kelly's, and The Porterhouse, which provide ample dining alternatives.

The hotel offers a welcome drink for guests, daily housekeeping (free), and paid laundry/ironing services. Safety deposit boxes are available. The lift serves all floors, though there are two sets of stairs to reach it. Parking is at the nearby Q-Park Christchurch (€22 per 24h). Private check-in/check-out and a tour desk are provided.
