The Central House Madrid Lavapiés is situated in the historic and culturally rich Lavapiés neighbourhood, placing you within a 9-minute walk of Plaza Mayor and less than 1 km from Puerta del Sol. Mercado San Miguel is 800 metres away, and the Prado Museum is a 17-minute stroll. The area is packed with tapas bars, restaurants, and cafés - with at least six dining spots within 0.5 km. Atocha train station is a 20-minute walk or a fast metro ride (line 1, Tirso de Molina station). Madrid-Barajas Airport is 14 km away: 30 minutes by taxi (fixed fare ~€30), 30 minutes by bus to Atocha (€5), or 45 minutes by metro (€5). The metro station is at the corner, making the entire city centre accessible without a car. The neighbourhood offers a weekend flea market right outside.

Accommodation ranges from private double, family, and quadruple rooms to 4-, 6-, and 8-bed dormitories, with female-only dorms available. Every room features air conditioning, soundproofing, a private bathroom, and a balcony - many overlooking either the street or the property's internal courtyard. Beds come with privacy curtains, individual reading lights, and a large under-bed locker (bring your own padlock). Rooms also include a flat-screen TV, work desk, and seating area. The private bathroom is en-suite, which provides convenience but means the sink is located in the sleeping area - this can create noise and disruption when used at night. Double rooms have one double bed; family rooms have multiple single beds. Dormitories are compact, and the lockers under the lower bunks do not fit large suitcases - storing valuables inside the locker and leaving the main bag on the floor is the standard approach.

The on-site restaurant, Citynizer Plaza, offers a modern space serving local cuisine and acting as a bar and live-music venue. A continental buffet breakfast is available daily from 08:00 to 11:00, including bread, pastries, churros, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, and hot drinks with soy milk. The breakfast costs €6.50 when booked online in advance or €7.50 on-site. The bar stays open until late, with a free welcome drink provided on arrival. There is also a coffee shop and snack bar. The breakfast menu is consistent throughout the stay.

Leisure facilities are focused on social connection rather than extensive wellness amenities. A sun terrace and a small splash pool on the terrace are available - the pool is suitable for a quick cool-down rather than swimming, and it remains open through October. A solarium is also part of the rooftop area. The hostel organises a free walking tour twice each morning and a nightly pub crawl (€20), along with live sport broadcasts. These activities are designed to help guests meet each other and explore the city.

The 24-hour front desk handles check-in at any hour, offers concierge service, a tour desk, and can provide advice on the local area. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
