THE TENT is located at International Youth Camp - Kapuzinerhölzl in a quiet park setting, just 10 minutes' walk from the Botanical Gardens and Nymphenburg Palace. Tram 17 from Botanischer Garten reaches Hackerbrücke in around 13 minutes, with a 5-minute walk from there; services run every 10 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes after 10pm. For airport access, take the S-Bahn S1 to Moosach, then bus51 to In den Kirschen - about a 5-minute walk from there. Olympiapark is 3.6km away, BMW Welt 4.1km, and Munich Airport 30km distant. Free street parking is available in front of the property.

The main dormitory is a single large tent - more than 600m2 - filled with 160 bunk beds, offering a shared, backpacker-friendly sleeping space. Triple blankets are provided per bed, but no pillow; a sheet can be rented for €1. Campers can also rent a RenTent (pre-pitched with air mattress, pillows, and a lamp) for up to two people from €50, but must bring their own sleeping bag. The shared bathrooms have hot showers (operated by a push-button) and are cleaned daily. Temperatures inside the tent can become extremely hot during the day and cold at night, so packing a sleeping bag and warm clothing is recommended. Noise from other sleepers persists until lights-out at 1am, making earplugs a useful addition for light sleepers.

The Cafeteria offers breakfast (€5) between 7am and 10.30am, with bread, cheese, fruit, organic fair-trade coffee, tea, and juices. Snacks and dinner are available throughout the day and evening, including barbecue meats on Fridays and Saturdays. The bar serves affordable local beer, and there is a vending machine on site. The guest kitchen is open daily from 7am to 11pm and is well-equipped with cookware, utensils, and an electric kettle. All cafeteria purchases are cash-only - no card payments accepted. A picnic area and outdoor furniture provide additional dining space.

Every evening a bonfire is lit, providing a central gathering point for mingling and relaxing. The property offers free access to beach volleyball, half-court basketball, table tennis, darts, and walking tours, plus equipment to borrow (soccer balls, badminton, board games, musical instruments - including a piano, guitars, and a banjo). Bicycle rental is available for €14 per day, and free sun loungers and sun umbrellas are provided on the terrace. A free city walking tour operates on Wednesdays from June to September. A piano bar adds to the communal atmosphere.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge in all public areas - reception, cafeteria, and piano bar. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/-out, private check-in, and a tour desk. Free lockers of various sizes (bring a padlock with 5mm shackle diameter, or buy one on site) are located in the big tent. Luggage can be stored in lockers after checkout. Shared bathrooms are cleaned daily, with hot water showers operated by a push-button. Laundry costs €2-€3 per load. A safety deposit box is available. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. Pets are not permitted. The property is cash-only for deposits and the cafeteria, and accepts no card payments.
