WESTEND HOTEL, Munich

The hotel sits in a quiet residential area. The nearest tram stop is a 5-6 minute walk, and the central bus station is a 10-15 minute walk. Munich Central Station is a 15-minute walk or a short tram ride away. The city centre is a 15-30 minute walk. The area offers a variety of restaurants, bars, cafes, a bakery across the street, and a shopping centre just 3 minutes away. The S-Bahn station is about an 8-minute walk, providing direct S1 and S8 connections to the airport (Hackerbrücke station is less than 10 minutes away). The location is practical for car-free city trips and especially convenient for Oktoberfest visitors.

Rooms are compact and some are noted as feeling dated, with old furniture and windows that may not seal well. Many rooms have showers with curtains rather than glass screens. There is no air conditioning. The bathrooms are often very small. Road-facing rooms can be noisy from the street and nearby bars. Rooms at the back of the hotel facing the courtyard tend to be quieter. Light sleepers may find the thin walls and general noise from neighbouring rooms disruptive. The room size is best suited for short stays or single occupancy. An extra bed is available in some rooms.

The buffet breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon, tomatoes, cereals, spreads, fresh juice, cold cuts, omelets, vegetables, sausages, bread, butter, and cupcakes. The quality is considered good value for the price. The hotel also offers free tea and coffee from a machine available 24/7, plus fresh apples. Several bakeries, cafes, and restaurants are within a short walk on the same street.
