Al Portico Guest House is located in the Cannaregio district, a 10-15 minute walk from Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station and a similar distance to Rialto Bridge and other central attractions. The neighbourhood is quiet but has a supermarket, café, and bakery within a minute, and many restaurants and bars a few steps away. The Alilaguna water bus stop (Guglie) is a 5-minute walk, providing direct service to Marco Polo Airport. The property does not offer parking, so arriving on foot or by water transport is the practical choice.

Accommodation options range from standard double rooms to larger apartments with canal views. Entry-level rooms are compact and functional, with a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, and desk. Larger rooms and the apartment offer more space, a seating area, and sometimes a mini fridge or kitchenette. Some rooms have exposed wood-beamed ceilings. All rooms have air conditioning and heating. There is no lift, and rooms are located on the first to third floors, accessible by narrow stairs. A separate annex apartment (Santa Fosca) is located 400 metres away and is on the ground floor. Some rooms face an internal courtyard, ensuring quiet sleep, while those overlooking the street may have some noise from nearby air conditioning units. Bath tubs are only available in two rooms.

Breakfast is a continental buffet served either in your room or on the roof terrace when weather permits. It includes bread, pastries, hot drinks, and cold items; it is not available during the colder months. There is no on-site restaurant, but a list of recommended local eateries is provided at check-in. Several restaurants, bars, and a supermarket are within a 2-3 minute walk, offering a range of affordable dining options. The guesthouse can also arrange packed lunches on request.

Al Portico has a quiet courtyard where you can sit with a drink, and a roof terrace with sun loungers available during the warm season. The terrace is accessible after 10 PM, but the courtyard is not. There is no swimming pool, gym, or spa. The Cannaregio location provides easy walking access to the city's cultural sites, and the water bus stops nearby allow for trips to the islands of Murano and Burano.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout. Luggage storage is offered free of charge both before check-in and after check-out until 19:30. Daily housekeeping is included. Express check-in and check-out (including self check-in for late arrivals) is available. The front desk operates from 9 AM to 3 PM, but a self check-in system with a door code allows access at any hour. Services include a tour desk, private check-in/out, lockers, and fax/photocopying.
