Hotel Details

Location

Moored on the River IJ at the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam North, a free 15-minute ferry from Central Station provides direct city-centre access.
The complimentary NDSM wharf ferry departs every 30 minutes from behind Amsterdam Central Station. Weekday first ferry from Central is 06:45; last ferry Sunday-Thursday is around 01:34 (02:45 on Friday and Saturday). The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes. From Central Station, tram lines reach Dam Square, Museumplein and Schiphol Airport (direct train in 15-20 minutes). The NDSM area itself is a dynamic cultural hub with street art, flea markets, festivals, restaurants and bars. Within a 5-minute walk are Pollux Pacific, Bbrood and Falafellow; Pllek and Noorderlicht are a short stroll away. A supermarket is also located nearby.

Accommodation

Standard cabins have a private bathroom with shower, TV and harbour or canal views. Five signature deck lofts (Letters B, E, L, O, T) offer themed interiors.
Standard rooms are compact but well-equipped: each has a private bathroom with shower, toilet, free toiletries, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a safe, heating, and non-smoking policy. Rooms face either the NDSM harbour or the River IJ. The five deck lofts are the main draw: Letter B features a skateboard halfpipe and king-size bed; Letter E includes a private cinema screen with projector and a king-size bed; Letter T offers a spa bath or round bathtub; Letter O has a unique design with terrace seating; Letter L is a modern loft. These lofts have a second level with a sleeping area reached by a steep spiral staircase - not suitable for guests with mobility issues. Some lofts lack curtains on the lower level, affecting privacy. The main boat also has family rooms, quadruple rooms and a dormitory. A lift serves the main accommodation, and corridor garbage bins are present for cleanliness.

Dining

A continental breakfast buffet is served daily until 10:30 for an additional €12 per person. There is no restaurant, but a bar and vending machines are available.
Breakfast includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, eggs, fresh fruit, hot drinks and juice. The bar is open from 09:00 to 00:45 and serves wine, champagne (at an additional charge) and snacks from vending machines. For a fuller meal, the NDSM wharf offers several restaurants within a short walk: Pollux Pacific and Restaurant cafe de IJ-kantine (0.5 km), Falafellow (0.5 km), and Pllek, Brooklyn Amsterdam and IJver (1 km). There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Wellness and Leisure

Leisure activities are focused on the boat's unique setting: a bar with billiards, a roof terrace, and the creative NDSM wharf area with cultural events.
The bar area offers billiards and a pool table plus darts. A roof terrace is open in good weather and provides panoramic views over the River IJ and Amsterdam skyline. The surrounding NDSM wharf is a former shipyard turned into a cultural hotspot with street art, festivals, flea markets and live music. Cycling is popular: the hotel rents bicycles for an additional charge, and a bike parking area is available on the wharf in front of the boat. No spa, swimming pool, gym or wellness centre exists on the property.

Facilities and Services

Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, luggage storage, lockers, and a lift serve the main boat. No airport shuttle or private parking is available.
Free high-speed Wi-Fi reaches all areas. The 24-hour front desk can store luggage at no charge, provide tour information, and accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB and Maestro. Private check-in/check-out is offered. Key card access and CCTV operate throughout. Safety deposit boxes are free. Electric kettles and hairdryers are available for a €10 deposit. No pets, no smoking inside. Parking: paid public parking nearby (approx. €9-9.90/day, not reservable). The nearest airport is Schiphol, reachable via Central Station in 15 minutes by train; a taxi costs around €75.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Book the loft letters (B, E, L, O, T) on the deck for a unique, private experience with expansive water views.

  • 02

Use the free 15-minute ferry from behind Amsterdam Central Station for all city access; it runs every 30 minutes.

  • 03

Request a specific loft letter (e.g., E for cinema screen and king bed, B for halfpipe) when booking, as availability is limited.

  • 04

Arrive by public transport: parking is nearby but paid (€9-9.90/day) and not reservable.
