CHEAPSLEEP HOSTEL HELSINKI, Helsinki

The hostel sits in the Vallila neighbourhood, 3 km from Helsinki Train Station. A tram stop is within a 2-minute walk and a bus stop 100 metres away-the 600 bus to the airport runs 24/7 from Hattulantie stop a few minutes on foot. Central Helsinki is an 8-minute ride by public transport, though the journey may take closer to 20 minutes depending on connections. Park Dallape and the Mäkelänrinne public indoor pool are within 10 minutes' walk. The bohemian Kallio district, with its bars and restaurants, is 1 km away. The area is safe but can feel a bit rough at night; arriving late is manageable thanks to the 24-hour supermarket on the ground floor and direct bus from the airport.

Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 and costs 8 EUR if booked in advance or 10 EUR on the day. It is a continental buffet with bread, pastries, cereal, hot drinks, and juice. The hostel does not have a restaurant, but the large, fully equipped shared kitchen with a dining area allows you to cook your own meals. There is a 24-hour supermarket on the ground floor for groceries. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are available on site. The bar on the property offers drinks but does not allow you to bring your own alcohol. Several restaurants and takeaway options are within a short walk, including King Kebab, Cheng Long, and Pizzeria Marco Polo.

Wellness and leisure options at the hostel include a massage chair, games room with arcade games and table football, board games, and periodic events such as movie nights, happy hour, temporary art galleries, and music or game nights. These are noted as social and fun, especially when hosted by energetic staff. The hostel does not have its own sauna or pool, but several public saunas are within walking distance: Sauna Hermanni (8 minutes), Urbansauna Kallio (9 minutes), and the free Sompasauna (30 minutes). A gay sauna is in the same building. The Mäkelänrinne public indoor pool is a 10-minute walk away.
