The hotel is attached to Mid Valley Megamall, one of the largest shopping and dining complexes in Kuala Lumpur, and a 5-minute walk from Mid Valley Komuter Train Station, putting KL Sentral just one stop away. Petaling Street is a 15-minute drive and Bintang Walk is 20 minutes by taxi. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a 70-minute ride. For drivers, the hotel shares parking with the mall at a flat rate of RM 5 per entry, but parking spaces can be limited and mall entrances may close after midnight, making car access difficult. Walking to the mall from the parking zone (recommended Zone A or C) can involve a long distance with luggage.

Superior rooms are compact - some are small enough that moving around with two suitcases is tight. They offer a choice of a queen bed (Double) or two single beds (Twin) and have a standing shower only. Deluxe rooms are noticeably more spacious and include a bathtub. Connecting rooms are available subject to arrival availability (Superior Twin + Superior Queen). All rooms feature air conditioning with an optional ceiling fan, a cable TV, minibar, tea/coffee maker, safe deposit box, ironing facilities, and trouser press. Some rooms have been renovated and feel modern and clean, while others may show signs of wear (mouldy bathroom grout, yellowing linen, stained carpets). A few rooms have reported poor air conditioning or cigarette smoke leakage. High-floor rooms may offer a view of the KL skyline.

Breakfast at Citi Café is a halal buffet with a variety of Asian and international options, including fresh fruit, pastries, and made-to-order coffee (cappuccino or latte). The buffet is generally well-regarded, though at peak times the selection can run low, and food is cleared promptly at the end of service (10:30 AM for breakfast). Themed lunch buffets are available, and the restaurant also serves dinner. Citi Lounge offers drinks and occasional live entertainment. For additional variety, the attached Mid Valley Megamall contains hundreds of dining outlets at all price points, including Chili's, Dragon-i, Olive Garden, and local options like Nyonya Leaf.

Cititel Mid Valley does not have a swimming pool or fitness centre. Mid Valley Megamall, directly connected to the hotel, houses a spa and a pool (separate facility), offering leisure options for guests. The mall itself also provides a cinema and extensive shopping.
