The streetcar stop across the street provides easy rides to Canal Street and the downtown business district (day pass $3). Union Station is 4 km away, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is 4 km, and Louis Armstrong Airport is 27 km. Eight restaurants and bars are within a 0.5 km radius, including local favourites like Rare Form Nola and The Yard. A grocery store is next door for self-catering supplies. The free underground parking garage is secure but fills quickly; alternative paid lots are nearby.

Rooms range from one-bedroom suites to two-bedroom units with a separate living room. Each suite includes a kitchenette with stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and cooking utensils, as well as a tea and coffee maker. Bed configurations vary: some have two queen beds, others a queen plus a sofa bed, and larger suites offer three beds. Some suites feature a spa bath (whirlpool tub) - but the limited hot water may restrict filling. Only five units have a balcony; these can be requested by calling the hotel in advance. Rooms are air-conditioned (some units have noisy AC units) and carpeted, with flat-screen TVs and cable channels. The property is older, and decor varies: some suites are recently renovated with stainless steel appliances, while others show wear. Noise from trains (train horn audible) and thin walls is possible; rooms on higher floors away from courtyards tend to be quieter. Windows do not open in many rooms.

The property does not serve breakfast or have a restaurant. Each suite is equipped with a kitchenette including a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, and basic cookware - suitable for preparing simple meals. A grocery store is located next door for supplies. Vending machines offering snacks and drinks are near the pool (cash only, limited selection). Numerous restaurants and bars are within a short walk (0.5 km), ranging from casual eateries to live-music venues, providing ample dining options without needing a car.

The outdoor pool is open all year (0.9 m deep, typically cool even in warm weather). It is located on the second floor and has a fountain in the centre. A separate kids' pool is free to use. The fitness centre contains basic equipment, though some equipment is older. Guests can relax on the large second-floor terrace overlooking Esplanade Avenue or in the interior courtyard garden. Bicycle parking is available. Board games are provided in the common areas. No spa facilities on site, but some suites have jacuzzi tubs (note the hot water limitation).
